I've been going to House of Freaks since the late 90's. I only allow Matt to do my piecing, he is the owner and came highly recommended. I have had a few done and few redone due to my own fault of course. Matt has seen part of me that most men would die to see.. He so professional, makes you feel very comfortable and at ease. If anyone is interested in piecing then House Of Freaks is the place to go.. Thank you House of Freaks for always giving me a comfortable experience. matt and tory are great. i have been going there for a few years now and they have always been fast, clean, and good at what they do. of course it hurts a little, but i know they are so good at what they do that it hurts a lot less than it could if i went elsewhere. Pros: clean shop, great selection, friendly people Cons: parking can be a pain; be patient, its worth it more

Matt is PROFESSIONAL piercer...GREAT experience !!!...FAIR price..polite, friendly and gentle : ) I went in for an ear-piercing ....Mat was very friendly but most importantly....his hand is COOL with piercing ...fast...almost NO pain and Super clean : ) ( i have been here ...this is the 2nd time) and i will be visiting House of Freaks again for my next piercing more

Hard to find a good piercing palace these days. Old Glory Tattoo in Venice recommended House of Freaks. Went in and was immediately intrigued by the great choices of body jewelry and started up a conversation with Torie. Felt comfortable immediately. She is very knowledgable and friendly. Discussed my previous piercing that was done on Venice beach. She explained why it wasn't comfortable in the healing and what jewelry shape to use to make it better. The previous place even gave me the wrong info on how to let it heal properly. Torie was very gentle, it was easy to do and the price was fine. Overall great experience and great shop! I'll be back... PS: I read the negative review by ashley... she must've come in with a stupid attitude, because House of Freaks was nothing but professional and totally cool. House of Freaks is a very professional shop to get any type of piercing done. I have gotten my nose and also my lip done. They are very knowledgeable and explain the entire process to you. The shop is very professional and clean and laid-back. They make you feel very comfortable and never once did I feel like i was getting hit-on or that the employees were preverts. i would highly recommended this place to any one looking to get pierced or even buy jewelry. I am not at all sorry for writing a bad review on your shop. It had to be done! I was very excited about getting my Belly pierced I knew I was ready to get it done so my friend and I went to Melrose because It has a great reputation for Piercing/Tattoo shops. We are walking down Melrose we end up at this place called "HOUSE OF FREAKS" (now it will be known to my friends and I as "HOUSE OF PERVERTS!") . We walk into this place and see these two guys standing behind this counter it was a small place and it looked like someone?s house rather than a real studio and I was a little hesitant but never the less I started asking simple questions about the procedure and if they used clean needles and stuff, but the two guys acted as if I was wasting their time by asking them questions when all the while they were to busy trying to get up on me and my friend!!! Not to sound conceded but I think my friend and I are atractive but we werent there for flirting!! It really surprised me when all they cared about was hitting on us and not answering my questions and when we did not reciprocate their advances they started to get rude with me and told me to shut up and just get it pierced, that?s when we walked right out of that place! I expected a lot more from a so called ?professional service place? which I now know is far from professional. These two guys were so full of themselves and they are old and nasty and need to check themselves. I didn?t feel comfortable at all and would never go to this place ever again. They were rude and not helpful at all. I later found out after telling this story to a few more of my friends that these guys are pretty know for this kind of stuff and being really rude to customers their names are ?Matt & Guy? and Matt is of all things the ?owner? of the shop!!! Shame on you!! I didn?t let this incident stop me from getting my belly pierced so we ended up walking down on Melrose and I found another shop that was very professional. Pros: NONE!! i went to get my tragus pierced over the weekend and was surprised at how nice this place was. the guy (named guy) who pierced me, was extremely nice, helpful, laid back and surprisingly, wasnt a pretentious cocky mf like most of the piercers ive met. the parlor itself was VERY clean and very organized. no dirty anythings anywhere - even the bathrooms were spotless. so if youre thinking of getting a piercing - and getting it done right, i highly recommend house of freaks.
