Best

This is usualy where all of the larger acts go.I have seen so many great bands perform here.Sometimes its a nice place to go but I do perfer The Social. The service is pretty good....

Worst

I just heard about a concert coming to HOB and wanted to take my toddler because he loves the band (Ralph's World). I of course assumed that he would need at ticket at 2 years old...

Great place to go 8/5/2005

This is usualy where all of the larger acts go.I have seen so many great bands perform here.Sometimes its a nice place to go but I do perfer The Social. The service is pretty good. And the people there tend to do a good job of keeping things in order. Both upstairs and downstairs have a great view. You can see the stage from most places in the club. more

An intimate venue 7/18/2005

From small performer to well-know, they all stop here. HOB is well-known in the Central Florida community for providing a great venue for an intimate musical gathering. In my time I've had the pleasure to see Anthony Cole of KOW perform there a few times (yes, he's the grandson of Nat King Cole and nephew of Natalie- and very talented!) I've also seen a few other acts. What they all have in common is that you can get close to the artists and really enjoy the vibe! The theater is decorated nicely and has a hip vibe to it. I won't spoil the moment for you, but you will surely enjoy the theater surround- it's moving! If you have time make stop in the restaurant for a bite to eat before the show! more

Where All Musicians Go In Florida 6/27/2005

I've seen a lot of wonderful shows at the House of Blues...Wilco, Bright Eyes, Alkaline Trio, The Cramps, and more. The House of Blues is set up perfectly, with two bars, a huge floor, a few tables, and TV screens downstairs. Upstairs, there's one bar and benches, VIP tables down below, and all in perfect range of the stage. There's plenty of room upstairs and downstairs for bands to sell merch. The food there is also good. I ordered The "Elwood", a blackened chicken sandwich with chili garlic mayonnaise, green chilies and sour cream, with French fries. The sour cream and mayonnaise cooled down the spiciness of the chilies, providing a rich and delicious consistency. It's also nice to come out of a show and be able to step into the Virgin Mega store or the Fender guitar shop, all part of Downtown Disney. more

Editorial
  • Center Stage
This multi-level venue has plenty of space to roam about, even during the most crowded shows. The room focuses on the mammoth stage that is elevated just enough so that it can been seen from just about any angle. However, since the main bar located at the back of the facility is usually the only one open, be prepared for a long wait.

    Musical Cross-section
Since the capacity is upwards of 1500, the House of Blues is a popular stop for a huge cross-section of national talent. Shows over the past few years have included The Cramps, Link Wray, De La Soul and Duran Duran. Also, the Orlando music scene is supported by a series of local band nights.

    Who Goes?
As the House of Blues is on Disney property, there will always be an influx of tourists blindly wandering into any show with a "brand name" performer. However, since the bands that play here come from every style and strata of music, the crowd here is what you would expect at any similar venue.
