Hot Shots Sports Bar-Billiards

I do alot of traveling around the country and let me tell you...this place tops my list as one of my favorites! I have been here several times since the new management took over and the changes are unbelievable! The place looks great, you can catch a view of several of the flat screen TV's from anywhere, and I was so impressed with the service...especially on my last visit! The waitress was so friendly, and went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect...and unlike many sports bars I have been to, the manager came over and struck up a conversation...what a great guy...I have seen him there every time I have been in over the past 4 or 5 months...his name is Matt...he told me about all of the changes he was implementing, and the plans he has for future promotional events...just an overall great person to have running this place! I know I am not alone in my search for a great sports bar with friendly employees and management who really care about the guests! Matt is so hands on...and the employees seem to really enjoy their jobs...obviously Matt knows what he is doing! I would recommend Hot Shots to everyone coming to the Ft lauderdale/Sunrise area...you'll have a blast...and you will really look forward to coming back!! I know I do! Hot Shots Rocks!! more

Ive been coming here for about 3 years and this place rocks. I love coming here to smiling faces and a fun atmosphere. I have read some of the comments and not quite sure if they were in the same place I was. I have had numerous people tell me they are glad that I told them about this place because there are so many different things you can do there. They have weekly events with one of them being a trip to vegas which they give out every monday. They have like 8 dart boards a ping pong table, 18 pool tables and over 65 TV's, which I think like 6 of them are Giant screen. I come here every Saturday and Sunday for football because I know they get whatever game I need. The management is great and they will bend over backwards to get whatever you need. Even if they can't get it they will try. The staff is extremely friendly and might I add good looking. Even on busy nights, like the UFC fights, the service is still spot on. So I would definately give this place a shot, and I promise you, you won't be disappointed. more

I've been going to Hot Shots for twenty years. The last year or so has got to be the worst in the restaurant's history. It used to be a cool place to play some pool and watch football with friends, but new ownership and worthless staff have made this place the anus of the bar scene. The clientele is absolutely horrendous these days, with everyone there looking to sell you some blow or steal your car stereo. The manager and his boyfriend, who I don't think works there, are always piss drunk and cause a scene. I hate this place. more

I recently went to Hotshots in Sunrise and let me tell you: I will NEVER go back. The pitchers of Bud Light were 13 dollars, the food came out cold. Not warm but cold. I attempted to talk to the manager, Matt, who ended up being a total rude a-hole about my cold food issue. He had a worse attitude than the staff. Another issue was when we were done playing pool and sat at the front bar the d-bag manager sat on a partition wall nearby and stared at us for 15 minutes until we just called it a loss and left. Warning: Do not go into Hotshots expecting good service, food or management. HOTSHOTS SUUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKS!!!! Pros: It's there Cons: Dirty. Lousy service. Big, dumb manager. more

I was at Hot Shots over the weekend. I haven't been to this bar in months. The bartender told me that there is a new owner and you can already see the change. The bar was packed and every game was playing. Some new flat screen tv's. Great service. I will be back more

The first time we went they did not put in our food order and we waited an hour and a half for our wings. the second time we went the bill was 89.54 and i was charged 107.44 i did not add a tip to it i gave our server a cash tip of $12 and now i had to dispute the charge with my bank. so food is marginal, service is terrible and servers will apparently add there own tip to your check after you have signed. more

Lots of wierd people hang out there. Makes you feel uncomfortable walking though the parking lot at nights. The servers there are slow and will only serve you if they know you. Oh well. Pros: Lots of pool tables Cons: Service bites more

I travel extensively and eat out on a regular basis (tenured professor) so I can honestly say this has been the worst bar and grill I have ever been to. Why? Read on. Horrible customer service; a simple food order took over 2 hours (all of the other groups at our shared table got their food quickly enough within 15-20 mins of ordering), and they did not have the decencey to reduce the bill or comp the ($35.00) order. Waitresses are crude and defensive (she picked a fight when I simply asked about my order after waiting the first hour). The manager was a total bozo (trying to charge for food that was sent back) and completely unapologetic about our experience there at the end of the night; he proudly retorted that they were not a member of the B.B. Bureau. After my first (and last) visit there, I can see why. Avoid at all costs unless you want to put up with sub-par food, crummy wait-staff and a place that is obviously not interested in repeat business or fair treatment towards their clientele.
