I've been to Shot Bar several times. I own a house right in the area so it's been easy for me to stop by with friends and grab some drinks. The one time I bring my Asian roomate, they decide to not let us in while letting in tons of white trash dudes.. When I went back to explain how much I've been to the bar, brought lots of girls, and spent lots of money, and how I wasn't going to come back due to them refusing to let us in, the bouncer tries to start a fight with me.
I wish Midtown would turn into something like Uptown in Dallas where young professional people are treated with respect. But in Houston, white trash rules. They have trashy college kids running the door and between Shot Bar and Open City, its the trashiest people in Houston getting through the doors. It's really too bad because Midtown was a cool concept. It's going down hill because of the types of people the bars are catering too. I recommend hanging out around the Washington area or Rice Village if you are a young professional. However, if you are uneducated, a hick, or white trash, I'm sure you will have fun at Shot Bar.
