GREAT COMBO 2/9/2007

I have my cut done by Jeff and color by Michael. They are a great combo. Strangers stop me, and frequently, to compliment my hair. Recently I have grown out my hair from a super-short layered cut to a bob. Jeff made every step of the way stylish. He is always patient and works with me to give me the cut I want. Michael does a wonderful job in giving my dark hair natural looking highlights. Highlights do not always mean blonde and he understands that. Plus the salon is open late and they are very accomodating with appointment times. Everyone is nice; no one trying to be the super-cool, trendy, condescending style-star here. Try this place and you won't be disappointed. more

Fantastic Job 1/14/2007

I had been to Hot Tops several years ago and returned this weekend and was definently satisfied! Michael really understood what i asked him for and delivered a picture perfect hairstyle. I will definently be back as a permanent client with him!! more

I went here today and got a great cut by Jeff. The salon is a must for someone not wanting the stuffy atmosphere of the chic salons nowadays....they listen to what you want and give you the hair cut you want. They want to give you what you want! I haven't been to a salon that cares in years! I am definitely not going anywhere else from now on. Jeff rocks. Good cut...nice unstuffy atmosphere...and RELAXED! THANKS! Jennifer is a true professional. 12/7/2006

I have passed by Hot Tops many times and for once decided to stop in. I was lucky enough to have Jennifer cut my hair. My hair is fine and limp and she made me look as though i had the hair of ten people. Jennifer also took the time to show me how to change up my look. She also gave me a week to come back in case i needed any adjustments. I haven't needed any adjustments but just the offer will bring me back to see Jennifer. more

Marisa + Hot Tops = One happy customer!! 10/16/2006

I was extremely nervous about a haircut that I wanted to dare to try. I showed Marisa the picture and she talked me through it from beginning to end. We talked, we laughed, she is so much fun and I had such a wonderful experience! I have been going to another salon (that I worked at) for years. I wanted something a little funkier and more ME. Marisa gave me exactly the cut that I asked for!!! It basically styles itself and I have gotten non-stop compliments on my awesome new 'do. Thanks Marisa and Hot Tops for making me such a happy gal and for finding me a new hairstylist! A pleasant surprise 7/9/2006

On my first visit to Hot Tops last week, I got an appt. with Umar. Based on the last reviewer's comments, I decided to get highlights for the first time. I have always hated the chunky look and just didn't trust anyone to listen to what I wanted. Umar did an amazing job. Even my husband noticed. And the cut is fabulous. I went in to get a few highlights and walked out with a great cut and very natural looking highlights. I asked Umar for THIN highlights and he did a great job with my request. I love that he actually took the time to think about my hair's texture and what would look good with my face and to make suggestions to me. When I went to fix my hair this morning it practically fixed itself, so I know it's a great cut. I am usually not loyal to stylists, but I will definetely be back to see Umar. more

Best salon in Houston 6/2/2006

I stubled across this salon after moving to Houston a year ago and I have only had wonderful experiences with every visit! Michael has given me the best haircuts I have ever had and I would recommend him to anyone. He actually listens to what you say you want and spends the time with you to get every cut just right. i went to hot tops on a mission for a new hair stylists after trying many places over the years....my journey finally has came to a stop because of the faboulous job my new stylist michael did on me.... he was so friendly and really listened to what i wanted.....and it didnt hurt that he was cute lol!! He was wonderful and i have not stopped smiling since i have a great new hairstyle!! plus the price was extremely affordable! if you r looking for a new place i would definently go see michael at hot tops!! WOW!! What can i say but thank god i finally found a salon that has a great stylist and is a great value!!! My stylist Michael was sooo friendly to work with and understood what i wanted and gave me a faboulous color and cut!! im absolutely amazed that the price was so LOW for all the services i had done... I LOVE Hot Tops, I decided to go short on a whim about a year and a half ago. Jeff cut my hair and I absolutley loved it, and I never thought I would have short hair, but he cut it perfect for my face and personality. I am now growing it out but will definetly have Jeff continue to do my hair. Also I am eager to have Umar do my brows. more

All hair styles welcome 11/6/2005

I never thought of myself as one of those people who would have a regular salon or stylist, but after a friend took me there with him I decided to have them do some color. My hair is very fine and other colorists have always treated it like thicker hair, leaving tacky chunks of color. Umar took the time to highlight small strands of my hair and to do the ends of my hair a different hue than the crown. He even fixed a the remnants of a home job that had gone wrong. The end product was amazing. A month later now, and I'm going back tomorrow to have around 18 inches chopped off. The only salon I would trust to help me part with my long hair is Hot Tops. Plus, they have some amazing coffee. Pros: attention to detail, flexible scheduling, great ambiance Cons: somewhat pricey more

I don't know if I can do justice describing what a fabulous experience I had at Hot Tops with Umar. While there, Umar made me feel pampered and glamorous, and even more importantly, the next day when styling my hair myself I was wonderfully surprised that although my hair is usually wild and hard to manage; this cut is perfect for me. I paid an amazing price for my cut and would be willing to pay more. Without a doubt, this will defin. be my new hair home.
