Poor attitude 11/8/2010

A few years ago, my dryer needed fixed, and my husband had taken it apart to diagnose the problem. He is competent in home repairs. We called the service department, and told them what needed replaced, and that the dryer was apart. The repair person they sent after 3 days looked at the dryer and said he wouldn't work on it because it was apart. SO we ran him out of the house with some choice explatives, found some one to sell us the part, and fixed it ourselves. Their loss! more

Always receive wonderful competent service. Prices may be a little higher than the big box stores but Hostetter staff knows what they are doing & will share info with you. Don't let the wonderful small businesses go out. Support the great places like Hostetter's in Mount Joy. more

Great store, great service 6/10/2009

Hostetter's never disappoints as far as hardware needs, and their service can't be beat. I'd rather pay .25 cents extra for something than drive all the way to a large home improvement store where you can't find anyone to help you. The only thing I would skip is their garden center where you will pay through the nose. more

A great hardware store 11/12/2008

I had to move from Mt. Joy last year and Hostetter's is one of the two places I miss the most. The service is wonderful and it is so much nicer to be in a homey store rather than a big warehouse place. When I come back to visit, I'll be heading straight to Hostetter's. MLB, North Carolina more

Hostetter's is a good hardware store 8/27/2008

I have lived in Mt. Joy for over 20 years and constantly go to Hostetter's. They have a great hardware selection, rental center, major appliances, garden center. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, always answering my questions on plumbing, electrical, gardening, etc. Their prices sometimes are a little more than Lowes or Home Depot, but you need to weigh the cost and inconvenience of travelling into Lancaster to save some change. more

Great Selection Prices Run High 8/7/2005

Although this hardware store as just about everything you can imagine, the prices for most things are higher than you can get at Home Depot or Lowes. The one great advantage this store has is their rental department. I have rented 8 foot tables and chairs when throwing a party and the prices are very reasonable. It's an ok store if you mind paying a few dollars more. more

Great Selection at Reasonable Prices 8/1/2005

Hostetter's offers a huge variety of products from nuts and bolts to being able to purchase appliances. They offer the same products as the big chain hardware stores even though they are a locally owned and operated store. Also they offer rentals of party supplies (helium tanks, fountains etc) as well as table and chairs. Other services that they offer include, paint mixing, gardening needs and key making. more
