Hong Kong Supermarket 6/16/2006

This place really comes in handy for the neighborhood. There are not as much little grocery stores or deli's in the area. This place serves as meat/fish market as well as a supermarket. But everytime I go, there's something off for me.. maybe because it's a bit on the dirty side, or the space isn't set up well. Something about it doesn't make me want to linger and shop like some other markets. Well stocked though. (Path Mart is up two or three long blocks but it's generally less expensive here and there's a whole lot of chinese items.) more

Extensive Asian Supermarket 11/20/2005

Busy bustling Chinese supermarket with many local patrons. Large selection of fresh produce like lichees, melons, chinese stringbeans and bok choy which in good weather is outside in bins. Fresh fish and crabs. Various frozen bags of chinese dumplings - shrimp, chicken, vegetable (Prime Foods brand are 3 for $10 which is about 70 dumplings for $10 - just boil and then pan fry at home - much cheaper than ordering out and very easy!). Oriental canned goods of vegies like bamboo shoots, water chestnuts as well as grass jelly, a kind of Chinese jello. Go to just wander through the aisles for an interesting experience. more

asian food 10/6/2005

They have everything here. It includes a fish market, a produce market and the supermarket itself. If you want to find anything asian, you would be able to find it here. Offering a variety of asian cuisines, you can make anything from vietnamese to thai, but be warn, more of the food are chinese. I mean this is chinatown. They have a variety of junk food, and i always go buy some whenever im in there. There prices are cheap and well, they sell everything more

Another supermarket 8/16/2005

This supermarket is small width wise, but stretches almost the whole block. There are two entrance ways that you can come in through. One way is through the fish market part of the store. The other is more sanitary from the other side where the carts are. The items are fairly priced. They have your typical asian groceries. For the regular items, I suggest going to Pathmark. It would most likely be cheaper. It's just a little farther to get to Pathmark, but they usually have a lot on sale at any given time. more
