I like the ideas that were the foundation of this restaurant but they seemed to have been lost in the shuffle.When they first opened they had a great creative well working staff.they seemed to work out the new restaurant glitches and glide along and then just stop.I have spent a lot of money of my own and with friends there but have lost the desire.A friend of mine who was the creator of the veggie goetta that worked there and moved on was turned me on to the place.I then went for brunch and noticed they changed the name off her goetta creation to the owners name.I thought that was a bit dirty and morally dishonest.I guess that's a personal thing but this is only an opinion based review so..... create your own adventure.meaning try it out and make your own assumption. No, AWFUL! The menu was absolutely ordinary. The service was nothing short of offensive. We had a group of 16 and the bartender lost track of a single Guinness draft. We had no fewer than 4 different staff interrogate our table about who owed for the beer. They were so classless as to collect our credit cards DURING DINNER to compare to their tabs. No Joke. We spent over $1000 and they harassed us over one beer that later turned out to be the bartenders error. On the other hand, eat there while you can because Honey won't be around for long. more

Parking is hard to find unless you want to pay for it. The sweet potato fries were EXCELLENT. YUM. The main entrees looked pretty good, but mine just seemed to be missing something. It was slightly bland, but for the price it should've been better. The service was fine (not spectacular but not bad either), and me and my friend ended up dropping $50+ easily for a two-person dinner. It's not that there's anything wrong with the place, I just think I expected more for the price. If I ever go back it will be to get those sweet potato fries and maybe a few drinks. Pros: good atmosphere Cons: parking is a pain despite not being downtown, food is hit-or-miss more

This is a great little quaint place in Northside. The atmosphere is very intimate and romantic but also good for a small group of friends. The dress was anything from jeans and tennis shoes to suits, black dresses and heels. The food was fresh and flavorful. We did have to wait a while for refills on our drinks from the bar but the waitress was there frequently for our water refills before we even asked. Overall its a very nice place but the food portions are a little small for the price. Now the dessert was mouth watering!!!! It was well worth the price. We had a chocolate flour free cake made with grand marnier liquor and....OMG!!! I had dreams about that cake that night...LOL I want to go back for the cake alone and I don't like chocolate...LOL. Honey has a menu of imaginative food that is delicious and beautifully presented, but the service leaves much to be desired. It's a shame, because a little more attentive staff and some organization could have transformed the experience to nothing short of excellent. Instead, it seemed to be a one step forward (every time we got food), two steps backward (every time we needed service) experience. Honey is a fine example of how restaurants overrate themselves and over charge simply by taking common everyday food items and calling them by their European names. It instantaneously gives the staff the unfair upper hand and pretense of knowing a food item by its European name. So the poor American who very seldom speaks more than one language, ""American"", has to ask the unknowing question, ?What?s this?? For example, ""mashed plantains"", translation ""mashed bananas"". Or ?demiglaze?, which simply translated means ""half sugar"". I won't go into the ever so common European ""Yukon Potatoes"", which the menu makes sound like a potato sent by God and not common to Krogers, or ?Carpaccio?, raw beef or fish. Nor will I go into her ultimate pretense, the wine list. Actually you can call food whatever you want, but at those prices it should be outstanding in taste and it wasn?t. The Creole Meatloaf wasn?t better than my Aunt?s meatloaf who lives on the Bayou in Louisiana, and if my Aunt saw what Honey?s charged for ground beef and spices overcooked she?d have fainted straight away into the Bayou. My friend had the Short Ribs with a cookie, yep an almond cookie they called ?Amaretti?, which it is called in Europe, but don?t bring no cookie with my ribs, I don?t care if it is a European cookie. The owner is the very short and nervous woman type, every time she explained a very common European food and I looked at its price on the menu, I felt like she was pouring hot oil on my boots and telling me it was raining. She talked down to us, even though we both live in Europe and were both raised in the neighborhood I let her explain the cookie with my girlfriends short ribs as if it where something simply done this way and this way only in Europe. In all fairness the food is so, so, and over priced. I think she should lower her prices, write the menu in ?American? and continue to expose Americans to very common inexpensive European food at fair prices. This is not my typical place. Its a little pricy but the honey fries are to die for. I had the cajun meatloaf for my entree. Very interesting blend of flavors and spices but not something I crave. Service was very friendly and humorous. Sitting outside is highly reccomended as well. more

you wont know what got'cha when you enter the world of honey. i love this place so much due to its passionate cooking and intellectual servers that rant like they are selling you fine diamonds. the food is out of this world. the environment is warm and toasty and calming and inviggorating. the place pulls my heart strings - they really want to make cincinnati a good place to live and dwell in Pros: yum, ahh, yea Cons: park northise lot next door or on street- not wheel chair accesible in front- go around back more
