Beware of Valet Parking. 7/17/2011

I real enjoy downtown Seattle and Homewood Suites is in a great location. The room was great. It was basically an apartment with a full kitchen, living room, bedroom, and a large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. I could have easily rated this hotel with 5 stars if it wasn't for the valet serice (or lack of valet service). The parking was a nightmare. My wife and I didn't get to the hotel until about 11pm and when we arrived we were told that the valet was off for the evening so we had to park ourselves in a space that was only 50 feet from the lobby entrance. It was an open garage so I installed a security club on the steering wheel and we went back inside where they told us they still needed to check our keys into the valet office. When we came down the next morning, I gave the valet my ticket and let him know about the security club. He said it was no problem. We checked out of the hotel while they were getting our car and I asked for a discount for parking since I was unable to use the valet service when we arrived. They were persistent and said that if I didn't pay the $30 now (25 for overnight parking, 5 for parking fees/taxes) they would just charge our card. I paid it and as soon as we finished checking out, the valet returned on foot saying he could not get our car started. At this point, I was a bit irritated. So I grabbed the keys and hauled our stuff out to the car myself and we left. When I installed the club on the steering wheel, the wheel lock had engaged which also locks the ignition. To turn on the ignition, you have to turn the wheel slightly (pretty common feature on many vehicles). Apparently the valet couldn't figure that out. So, other than paying $30 for $25 overnight valet service with no valet, It was a nice stay. more

The Best Hotel Experience Had In Seattle 3/19/2010

I have travelled to Seattle many many times on business, and I have stayed in multiple hotels in downtown. After staying at the Homewood Suites, the search is over, I am staying here every time I come to Seattle in the future and will recommend my colleagues and friends to do so as well. I stayed for a total of four days and only wished I could stay longer! My room was enormous and the bed was so comfortable I found it hard to get up for work! They always have fresh coffee in the lobby, and they even offer free breakfast! And this is a real breakfast, eggs, bacon, waffles, the works. The staff was very helpful and very friendly, all in all I couldn't have asked for a better stay! And the price was GREAT! I would recommend this property to anyone coming to Seattle. Pros: free breakfast, huge rooms, friendly staff, location, price Cons: I couldn't stay longer! more

Wonderful Experience in Seattle 3/9/2010

I'm not too sure what the other gentleman experienced with the management, but this hotel is not the Summerfield Suites anymore, it is the Homewood Suites and the management is different. These people went out of their way to ensure that my family and I had a wonderful time in Seattle. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone travelling with their family as well as anyone travelling on business. The suites were so big and comfortable, and the location was perfect! Pros: Great location, great size of room, great cost more

A great place to stay! 10/7/2009

Very large rooms with a kitchen and living area to boot! We stayed here last year during renovation and even then it was worth the fare. Recommend to anyone coming to Seattle. We will again be back next year! For sure! Pros: Excellent ammenities, great staff Cons: None more

New Management disregards customers service for packing in the customers 7/17/2006

Noticed lately that business do not care if you have good service anymore? Well add Summerfield Suites to the list of companies that dont care to service you. It seems they would rather just ignore you because the hotel is full than address valid issues. Once again, "if we ignore it, it will go away" becomes the Customer Service motto of the times. Pros: location Cons: service. what to get something done, or talk to people who pass the buck and never address valid issues. Choice is yours!! more

If you enjoy Capitol Hill and the Waterfront, You really can't find a better location for lodging in Seattle. The Suites are centrally located ,right in the heart of everything. Clubs,Restaurants,Shopping. I really liked being only walking distance from my fav Capitol Hill Night Clubs. The Suites are friendly. One rainy evening they loaned me an umbrella from the front desk. They're also clean ,comfortble and great for entertaining. My new place for lodging when I'm in Seattle. Pros: location, location, location more

Editorial
  • The Scene
This comfortable hotel may be right next to the convention center, but it is often overlooked because it doesn't belong to the larger, better-known chains and isn't quite in downtown proper. Traveling execs don't know what they're missing, beginning with the extra-spacious accommodations. The in-the-know clientele that stays here includes conventioneers, business travelers, groups and occasional tourists.

    The Details
Only 26 of the 193 rooms in this hotel are not two-room suites, and most of the guests prefer the larger accommodations. Since the building was originally constructed to house condominium apartments, each suite has a kitchen and living room-sized sitting area with a fireplace and a desk. The large bedrooms have king or queen beds, and the views range from downtown and the Space Needle to Capitol Hill. The hotel's 24-hour shop offers TV dinners, midnight snacks and medicines. Room service is from a Brazilian restaurant across the street.
