When the vast majority of towns folk and those from the surrounding area talk about going out for a custard what they really mean is going to the Homewood Grill. It is a laid back little place with plenty of parking. They serve a wide variety of custard treats and a few meal items as well. They have a reputation and they uphold it well of being the best custard shop in town. I believe they do a better job of custards than the local Dairy Queen ever did. On a hot summer night they are very busy. They are the busiest after ball teams. Families take their kids out for a treat after their ball games. more

Excellent Ice Cream 8/17/2005

This is the best place to go for a summer treat. They are only open seasonally, and sometimes the line is long-but, so worth it. This summer my favorite is the new birthday cake ice cream, it tastes just like a white birthday cake with frosting! They are famous for their upside-down banana split, and the shake-n-more which is their version of that famous thick ice cream treat with candy etc. in it. It is better than the famous one! My pick is chocolate ice cream with peanut butter cup and Butterfinger. They also have burgers, fries etc. If you live in the area, it is worth the drive. more
