Piano Bidder Nightmare 10/19/2010

Really piano people??? You failed to mention that another guest had changed the minimum bid, starting at $500 instead of $4,500. You were very childish when the situation was explained to you - for some reason you thought you deserved the piano at the outrageous low price. The church offered the piano at the $4,500 amount - you accepted that amount and then disbuted your credit card bill in order to ""cheat"" the church. Not good. It turned out OK in the end. You got the piano for the $4,500 (the credit card company sided with Holy Family) and HF was able to continue its support of it many ministries. more

Annual Fundraiser became a Nightmare 6/14/2010

Attended their annual fundraiser/auction and we were the winning bid for the Baby Grand Piano. We checked out that night, paid, received our receipt, but when we tried to arrange for pick up of the piano, they would not release the piano because they felt the bid was too low. We were treated as if we were trying to cheat the church and we were told that they did not have to honor the receipt because they had not actually charged our card that evening Pros: Great evening/lots of items for auction Cons: Never got item even though we were winning bid and paid more

Church with Irish Flair 5/21/2002

Holy Family is a traditional Catholic church with a large congregation... with a surprising large amount of young people and families. The pastor is a fantastic speaker who brings a wonderful Irish flair and perspective to all things holy. Be careful with where you park... the South Pasadena police are not very fogiving...
