Jem of a diner 3/31/2003

This is not your typical diner and certainly not your typical diner food. Although all meals they serve are healthy and tasty, their breakfast food is a must have. Their signiture tea and coffee cake (dripping w/ butter and brown sugar) is what everyone knows them for, but their potatoe dishes are equally as good. They also have an excellent selection of vegetarian and vegan fare. Breakfast is the busiest time, so be an early bird and arrive before the crowd, especially on the weekends. Pros: Breakfast, Parking lot Cons: Gets crowded fast more

Not your typical coffee shop... 6/26/2002

I am definitely not a coffee shop type person but this place is different. If you're thinking Denny's this place is far, far above. I like breakfast here the best. They have a Cheesy Scramble that I now try to duplicate at home. And their Coffee Cake, you can make a meal on it. They always have Blueberry and one other type to choose from. Their lunch/dinners are excellent too. You can see them from Hwy 101 right near the Madonna Inn. Give them a try on you next trip through SLO. Pros: Best Breakfast, Easy parking Cons: Busy on Weekends more

  • In Short
Breakfast lovers favor this family-style franchise for its hearty, all-day menu of pancakes, omelets and scrambles. Hash browns are gussied up with California ingredients such as chicken-apple sausage or salsa fresca. Savory options such as gooey huevos rancheros are served with large hunks of blueberry coffee cake. More classic fare includes burgers, sandwiches, quesadillas, pasta, and a list of hearty chicken and salmon entrees.
