Ye olde town 8/19/2005

Historic Richmond town is this really nice old fashioned village and museum that shows you what life was like centuries ago. They do reenactments of famous events, have parades and fairs and they is always some kind of event going on. Especially around the holidays. The museum has cool exhibits and demonstrations and takes place in an actual old house. more

Good for Kids and Events year-round 8/15/2005

Richmondtown is kind of like Staten Island's own little Williamsburg, Virginia. Creepy graveyards, colonial settlements, a blacksmith shop, and all the things you would expect to find in a historic reenactment site are all there, including people in costume. it's great for kids up to age 10-11 in my opinion. Even if they're not from Staten Island, it's easy to appreciate what life was like for early settlers anywhere in our country. For adults there are music events, flea markets, antique fairs and dinners thru the year. more
