I will be a regular customer there. I do not know of a nicer place to have a cigar and a drink in Atlanta. The staff and the other customers were very nice. I tried a scotch I had never tried before because they had so many. I think this is a great place. more

I like the place a lot BUT if there is ANY type of event going on; you can forget good customer service, in fact I have come in the door, went up to the bar and have waited for at least 10 minutes before getting an order of any kind placed. And don't even think you will get a greeting what so ever if an event is going on, because they are milking the capricious customers at that moment; that they feel will tip them well, instead of their regulars! I love a good cigar every once in a while and from now on this is my place for relaxing and having my smoke. The cigar selection is far better than any other place with a bar, and the bar selection is incredible. What more could I want? Oh yes, a plush sofa on which to relax - that was there too. We stumbled on this place not really knowing what to expect and found it to be a great bar with a nice cigar selection. We had no idea it was a full bar so we were pleasantly surprised. My experiences at Highland Cigar were not so great as everyone is saying. Since my regular cigar store closed last year, I have sort of been homeless and been trying to find a new cigar store to hang out at. I found their cigar selection to be pretty awful, slightly expensive too. I am not much of a drinker so I cant say much there. I really didn't feel the ""cozy and great"" atmosphere and no one claiming to be the owner rushed out to greet me. I sort of got the feeling that the waitress was trying to usher us out. There is no way so many people are giving them 5 stars. I really have to believe they are having their employees or insiders write themselves reviews. How come every good review talks about the owner by name and says how great he is? Something is up there. There is nothing really spectacular about this place. If you really want to go to a cigar store, go to Cigar World (the old Georgia Cigar) in Buckhead or Tobacco World in Marietta where they actually have a huge selection of cigars. I was in town on business and found out about Highland Cigar online. It looked like a great place to relax and smoke, with great reviews as well. I had emailed Brian (the owner) about the bar and when I came into the Highland Cigar, I was immediately greeted by him. I knew I was in for a nice time. Brian introduced me to some of the regulars as well as the manager, who was a knockout! I was able to bring my own cigar from the outside, though they had a small, but very nice selection (no sissy cigars) in the walk-in humidor. more

Where do I start? For a women who has been brought up on fine scotch, and finer cigars Highland has brought back so many wonderful memories. But beyond that, for a woman who loves cigars, and scotch Highland is a great environment. Very courteous gentlemen and ladies, attentive staff, and comfy furniture just to name a few.. I enjoy it there so much! I call Highland my personal escape.... It?s just to bad that you cant please everyone.. I went to this establishment a couple of times, the first time for to see it, the second time I brought a client. Both times were bad experiences. They are extremely over priced and have terrible cigar selection. No real cigar smoker would ever step foot in there. I finally tried this place out last weekend, and it was a wash. I was looking for a place to throw my buddy?s birthday bash, and after meeting their event planner out, she convinced me to give this place a shot (and it sounded perfect). Well, let me tell you: don?t let the descriptions and previous reviews fool you. Upscale? Maybe if you are the kind of person who considers Hoote** (apparently I'm not allowed to say the name of the chain restaurant where girls wear the orange shorts) an acceptable destination. Fun? I would have more fun at the local tavern that wasn?t trying to be something that it wasn?t. Friendly staff? Don?t even get me started on the staff?it wasn?t that they were not friendly (although they weren?t overly so), it was that they were very unprofessional. I didn?t come here as a substitute for a strip joint. I came to have a drink, and maybe a cigar. And even if the girls were attractive, I don?t go to bars to flirt with the staff. All in all, this place was a big letdown. It is a very average bar, that is stuck somewhere between r*dneck watering hole and high-class lounge. And they?ve managed to take the worst of each one. Let me start with a Hug for Darkness(Brian) & Robert(Rob)....... Outstanding job guys. I call The HCC"" the living room""because that's how they make you feel (At Home). I never knew I could meet so many ""New old Friends"" until I started going to The Living Room (HCC)...... I love to puff cigars, and at the Highlands, I puff with like minded people. The staff is top notch (hey Lil Mama & Maria). The sofas.....WOW!!! The games are always on, and the liq.always flowing. My experience with Highland Cigar Co. comes from an avid cigar smoker (myself)! I believe in writing my own 1st hand accounts of places. Pros: Accessibility to downtown, Tremendous amount of different Scotch's, Hours of Operations, Staff makes you feel at home. This place is an absolute joke. Its a great example of what happens when over pretentious, rich, yuppies move into an authentic neighborhood full of real authentic local businesses. This place is gut renching. This must be the only cigar shop, lounge and bar all-in-one that I have ever seen. This place is awesome! The humidor is not just some tiny bartop thing...it is a nice walk-in size. The sofas were absolutely amazing to relax in. The bar is beautiful - and so are the girls that work there. Need I say more? They made a loyal customer out of me!
