I have never left a bad review on any business, but after my experience here, I absolutely had to. \r \r If anyone boarded here over Christmas, think twice before just handing your card over to pay without going over your charges first. NO dogs, ZERO, received daycare on Christmas Day. Do NOT pay the extra fee for daycare. The fact that they would try to charge me for this day when they have a webcam which showed that no one received daycare is mind boggling. In addition to Christmas Day, dogs only received 2 hours of playtime on Christmas Eve. Yet they will try to charge you full price. I have never boarded my dog here before (preferred daycare was booked) and they would NOT let me tour the facilities because they were ""too busy."" The ONLY reason I was comfortable leaving my dog was because they have a webcam. So on the 24th I got online to look at the webcam. My dog came in, then less than 5 minutes later went to puppy jail for 20 minutes. I have a rambunctious 31lb Frenchie who is NEVER around small dogs. His brother is a 100lb American Bulldog. When I dropped him off, I requested for him to be with the big dogs since he is over 30lbs (their cutoff between small and large dogs) and he is not used to small dogs. I requested this for the safety of the smaller dogs and so my dog would feel comfortable and enjoy himself. Instead, they did the exact opposite. After his stint in puppy jail they removed him and took him to the back. They did not allow him to play at all - keep in mind, his usual daycare has NEVER had an issue with him in the past. The way I witnessed the woman handling/picking up my dog was incredibly unprofessional and uncalled for. So long story short, go over your invoice before you pay because they WILL overcharge you. When I picked up my dog he darted out and could not get into my vehicle fast enough. It was apparent he was not let out and did not receive the services I requested. \r \r Sidenote: answering service said they would be checking their messages throughout the holidays. I left a voicemail with my number and also sent an email. I did not receive any sort of communication in return. However, I did see 3 employees on camera just standing around talking to each other, but I guess it takes 4+ employees to get communication returned. \r \r I am appalled that they have been in business this long if that is how they treat their customers. If this is how they conduct business when there is a camera in their facilities and we can see everything, I do not want to know how they act in other parts of their building where there is not someone watching them. \r \r *I have screenshots on my phone that backup what I am saying. more

(not many places offer this but they DO) Know how to pamper your pet Pet is served quality foods Reasonable price Trust worthy, they know what they are doing Overall I truly think that High Stone Pet Lodge genuinely cares for my dog Can’t wait to bring along my doggie to their awesome holidays party each year! How do they bribe my dog like this? 2/17/2010

I'm finally getting around to giving High-Stone their props. Seriously, what does this place do to make your pet so happy? My dog can sense when we are within a few miles of High-Stone and I don't know how he does it. I'll load him up in the Jeep for a trip to the vet or a long jog around Bachman and if we get close to High-Stone (even if we are on I-35 - not even Harry Hines or Mockingbird!), he starts wagging his tail and pacing. I have to give High-Stone credit for making my dog love them, even though I am secretly jealous. Della and the rest of her pet-loving staff have won my picky Sammy over and make it hard for me to compete. And don't even get my vet started on Sammy's personality issues - once we pass the High-Stone ""area"" (according to Sammy), he puts his tail between his legs and starts whimpering. Even though my vet is awesome, how can he compete with Della, Mario, and all the fun ""regular"" dogs at High-Stone? It has gotten to the point where I've made impromptu daycare stopovers out of guilt because it makes Sammy so happy (at your own risk, though - they are popular and get close to full booking!). I may look like a loser jogging by myself around Bachman Lake, but at least Sammy isn't whimpering and pulling the his leash south the whole time. Thank you, High-Stone? Haha. I am grateful, though, that I never feel guilty when I need pet care! Keep up the good work and please don't change anything because we have spent years trying to find a boarding place Sammy and I both like (and where I feel he is safe from death-by-heat exhaustion - scary!). How do you afford that Texas summer air conditioning? Nevertheless, I will never take Sammy anywhere else. My girlfriend who has a cat feels the same way, which is impressive since cats don't really have feelings (kidding). Trust me, this place is magic (even met my boyfriend at their holiday pet party) - but only for owners who don't mind sharing their pet's love with High-Stone!! My dogs were well taken care of 12/27/2009

I had a bad experience when picking up my dogs, but Della, the owner, called me and went over my bill and credited my account for the disputed charges. She was very nice and went out of her way to keep my business. I will use them again in the future and would recommend that you go ahead and use the all inclusive suite. I tried to save money by using the smaller kennel, but ended up spending more with incidental expenses. Pros: Facility is clean more

Good place, but don't be late for pick-up- even if you're a long time customer 1/20/2009

Have used this place weekly for 2 years now (camp and grooming) and while the overall experience was good, their late policy put an end to my dog going there. I was late once in 2 years due to a traffic accident and the staff wouldn't wait an extra 10 minutes for me to pick up the dog. Even after I offered to pay a late fee for them to wait. Long time customers don't seem to be valued very much. more

Wonderful and Attentive Pet Hotel 1/8/2009

I had never boarded my pets before, but they were just wonderful, answering all my questions and even taking my worried phone calls when I was on vacation. They were also accommodating to my change of plans and although I called them 3 times in a row, they answered me with a smile every time. I boarded both a dog and my two cats, and even got a report card afterward that detailed how they did while they were ""at camp."" I would recommend them to any pet owner. Best pet care I've found in the Dallas area, but book early 12/11/2007

I've taken my kids, I mean dogs, to almost all the kennels in the area but once I took them to High-Stone I stayed! No need to go anywhere else now. I have 2 small dogs and a large dog and both when I drop them off and pick them up, their tails are wagging and I can tell they are happy. And so am I! The owners are very hands-on and personable and the staff is great - they know both my dogs and me by name. I've also used their doggy day care on several occasions and it is so cool to see them on the web cam having fun. This place sometimes get booked but they are expanding and building several more boarding areas so hopefully that won't be an issue much longer. Hmmm....perhaps I shouldn't be writing about how great this place is so they don't get too booked up! Unannounced I was offered a tour and was surprised at how clean the facility was and how friendly the staff was. Love the outdoor kennel area. Couldn't believe how well the dogs got along in doggy dayCare. Watched the dogs on the new webcam from my office. Even have suites with TVs. Groomer and owners even attend dog shows regularly and really know their stuff. My dogs will always stay there when they can't stay at home.
