Hi Time Liquors

A great place for all kinds of imbibers. You want it, they got it, even if you aren't sure what it is. Last week they helped me find an authentic Greek wine for a last-minute invitation to a dinner with 30 Greek guests--our selection was the first picked by everyone! Today I went in with a vague recipe for Tahitian rum punch for 150 and got suggestions that I felt were just right. After that it was off to a wine tasting where they just happened to be smoking fresh fish, lamb, and abalone along with offering some great wines. Too bad I don't know enough to work here, but it's a great place to visit. If you're in a hurry for something specific, let them know the food or event and price range and put yourself in their hands; otherwise plan an hour or two to browse. more

By far the best liquor store in Orange County! Best selection of wine, beer, hard liquor and cigars; great prices, wine and beer tastings, and super friendly staff. And if they don't carry it, they'll be happy to see if they can find it and order it for you (at a price). Simply the best! more

Hi-Time is perhaps the best liquor store I've ever been in. They have a staggering selection of beer, wine and hard alcohol. The building is somewhat unassuming from the outside, but it has a basement stocked with thousands of bottles of wine and the main floor features a huge selection of liquors. The prices are very reasonable--some bottles are quite expensive, of course, but those are great wines. If you are looking for bargains, there are plenty of those as well. more

This is a very nice wine shop, and they carry quite a few limited-production and hard-to-find wines. They have a great staff, and they're happy to answer questions. They also carry other liquors. They will ship wine to you, and their prices are competitive. more

This place has just about every liquor, wine, and beer that's ever been produced. Well, that's not totally true, but they have such an extensive collection of drinks--from the cheapest store-brand vodka to giant bottles of Dom Perignon--that it's hard to imagine otherwise. The prices cannot be beat, and there are always specials and sales going on all the time. This is a great place to pick up a 21st birthday present that will not be forgotten! more

Hi-Time Wine Cellars is a traditional wine and spirits shop found in Costa Mesa. The shop has been around since 1957 and specializes in California, French and world wine. This story is truly amazing. I discovered it when I returned from shooting a movie in Africa, and went on a quest to find a South African cider called Savannah Dry. I searched and searched and called and called and finally after googling came to their extensive website, where they sold six packs and cases for very reasonable. Althought the cider had been marketing a bit across the US in 2001, this is literally the only place in North America that now carries it--and lucky for me they're right here in Southern California! I drove to the store to pick up a case or two (one was for a friend), and ended up spending quite a bit of time browsing their unbelievable collection of wine, beer and liquors. Their specialty beer room is mind-blowing--they've got more micro-brews from more places than I've ever seen. The staff is also extremely knowledgeable about their products--that must be a fun place to work! more
