Scenic Area Is by Zaza 10/9/2010

Hermann Park is not quite a dog lover's park, but it is scenic, manicured, and massive. The park is right by Hotel Zaza which is very dog friendly. The park area beside Zaza does not have any doggy bag stations or water faucets. They do have wonderful fountains, benches, and sculptures. more

Dog Park coming soon! 4/7/2010

Hermann Park will be getting a dog park in the future! Pros: Dog friendly area more

Beautiful Grounds Not As Dog Friendly 3/31/2010

Hermann Park is not quite a dog lover's park, but it is scenic, manicured, and massive. The park is right by Hotel Zaza which is dog friendly. Pros: Fountains are lovely Cons: Parking; Plants may be poisonous to dogs more

Huge park, fun for all 2/15/2010

Hermann Park is a rare and great grassy, shady area in Houston that everyone can appreciate. The space is huge and there's always something new to explore, from the tree-lined paths to the numerous play sets with plenty of swings and slides (and be honest, they're not just for kids). Go hand out with friends during the day, take your kids to play in an afternoon, or go on an evening walk for a unique (and cheap!) date. Just be aware that the park does close at night and that if you're there after closing, security will ask you to leave, which isn't a bad idea. Pros: Good parking, lots of stuff to do Cons: Can get a little shady at night more

Most beautiful scenery in Houston 11/16/2006

I can spend hours upon hours at this park. The gardens are amazing, especially the Japanese garden. Follow every trail and discover something new and beautiful. Now, with all the changes that are being made to the park, it is an even beautiful. Pros: SCENERY more

Houston's Best Kept Secret 10/11/2004

If you haven't seen Hermann Park recently, I HIGHLY recommend you see what they've done with the place. It is a beautiful park filled with secrets that you can only discover with a good, comfortable pair of shoes and a sense of adventure. Start your expedition at the Sam Houston statue, and don't leave until you find the Enchanted Throne!! Pros: Scenic, Clean, Relaxing more

Ahhh. A Day at the park... 8/9/2002

This place is fantastic! It is shady, has walking trails, riding trails, and is close to several museums, the Zoo and Miller Outdoor Theater, to name just some of the things that make it appealing for a day outing. You can plan a day at the park, and then just go with the flow! Pros: Good Parking, Convient Cons: Can be crowded more

Best golf deal. 8/4/2002

Course is in great shape with the exception of some bumpy greens. Very lush surroundings. Holes tend to be on the shorter side (e.g., 478 yd par 5), but nonetheless are still challenging. Enough water and blind shots to test your accuracy. Best excuse to leave work early? How about a $14 green fee to walk 18 after 2pm on weekdays; $6 more for a cart! Never had a problem walking on, but I doubt that will last as nice as this course is. Pros: Low cost, Course in great shape Cons: Plagued by slow play, No clubhouse @ turn, Ambulance sirens more
