We called these guys to come fix our air conditioning unit. We paid $95 for the guy to tell us there was a leak, and that was it. He said it was our contractors fault, so we called our contractor to come fix the leak. The contractor was unable to find the leak, and long story short, when called The Heating and Cooling guys back, to ask for an estimate the receptionist wasn't just rude, she was lazy.
She claimed she couldn't give me an estimate, nor tell me if there would be a second $95 dollar charge fee because she "Just couldn't look up the file right now?" Who says that.
So, not only did the technician, who was actually pretty nice, and seemed pretty honest, forget to leave us an estimate, the receptionist refused to answer our questions.
The guy drove out a second, gave us an estimate, and told us he couldn't talk the receptionist out of the drive fee. We tried calling her back and negotiated the fee and $50 and told him to go home.
In the end, it was going to cost us $300 to have them fix the leak, and another $100 to have them drive out the second time. We paid the technician $50 for driving out a second time, and sent him home. We decided we'd rather pay more money for better service than deal with such a pill of a receptionist.
