Healthspace Cleveland

The Health Museum is a great place to take children. It is very interactive and my cousins have always loved going there. It is a little small compared to the Great Lakes Science Center and there is less to do. You can probably do the whole museum in about an hour. However, it is well worth the price as your children and yourself will come away learning something. more

Healthspace Cleveland is a nice new museum in Cleveland dedicated to the human body. The exhibits are dedicated not only to the workings of the body, but also to what we can do to keep it healthy. You can learn about the systems of the body, good exercise habits, and how to eat healthy. They also offer classes on a variety of topics. more

Healthspace Cleveland has a beautiful new facility! Wonderful things to see and do inside! THey have cooking classes, crafting and science seminars now as well. The current exhibits are: The Road to Good Health - It's a real life adventure filled with places to play and things to learn through the stages of life. Stress Yard - Here, you’ll discover common causes of stress, how it affects you physically and emotionally, and techniques for reducing stress in your everyday life. Interact with a kinetic sculpture that demonstrates Water Works - Stop by our renal tank for a figurative, hands-on demonstration of how your kidneys filter water and waste from the bloodstream to produce urine. Engage an interactive program that explains osmosis and how your kidneys use it to regulate Rebuild Factory - Think of it as a parts shop for your skeleton. This is the place to learn about the muscles, bones, and joints that put your body in motion. Examine real bones, and see how they fit together. Play with models that demonstrate the range of motion for every joint in your body. The Go Go Grill - Our customized deli wagon serves up a healthy portion of nutrition information along with loads of fun. Use a simple sorting game to learn how to properly store and serve a variety of foods. Compare the amounts of sugar in some of your favorite drinks. Build a meal from the menus of the most popular fast food restaurants, and discover how it impacts your recommended daily intake for calories, fat, sodium, carbohydrates, and more. Or just climb behind the wheel and listen to some tunes. more

They have everything larger than life. They have a giant ear that shows you the process that your ear goes through to help you hear. They have agiant eye, nose, mouth , etc. Those are the exhibits that never change. But they have exhibits that change from time to time. This is a very good museam to help kids and adults learn about the body. more

What a cool place for kids to learn about the body and how to keep it healthy. They have interesting information about how each system works and how to take good care of it, but it's geared for kids. For example, they have taste-testing areas to learn about the taste buds. There's a gigantic tooth that a museum member shows how to properly clean. They have a section that shows how to grill and prepare a variety of foods, and the difference between fat and muscle. It gives kids a great idea of being healthy at an early age, and definitely should be visited at least once. more
