From the moment I walked into the office I was greeted by friendly staff and knowledgeable Doctors. The office wasn't gloomy like most but new and contemporary with state of the art equipment. They LISTENED to me and gave me choices based on my health goals. I have never been so impressed with the personalized care and the understanding and willingness to genuinely want to help. I have referred 3 of my family members there and we are all feeling SO much better and have learned so much about health along the way. I would highly recommend this office to any one not only seeking to feel better but to also experience what chiropractic care should be like! more

After a car wreck, I went to a chiropractic clinic owned by Dr. Brad Holden, D.C. His business was then called Health First Chiropractic. The office had just been taken over by Dr. Holden and was formally called Legend Oaks Chiropractic. I went because a friend was seeing a Dr. Turner. A chiropractor that was part of the old practice, Legend Oaks. When I asked for copies of my bills after my first visit I was told they were changing staff and computer systems and could not give me the info yet. Meanwhile they were sending bills to my insurance compony and depositing the checks. After many visits of asking I finally insisted on copies of my bills . I found they were charging me 3 times more than my friends were being charged for the same service! Supposedly because my friends were existing patients they were charged less, but Dr. Turner was not aware of this change in charges. When I asked for an adjustment of the bill they would not change my past billing because my PIP(personal injury coverage) had already been charged. They did however lower my future rates a little. I didn't want to change Doctors at the time because I was injured and ended up needing surgery to fuse 3 vertebra. Then, three years later I got a call from my lawyer asking if I had unpaid bills with Health First. Dr. Holden's office had called him claiming he owed them money from my case. This of corse was untrue. My bills were all ""paid in full"" by my PIP(personal injury coverage) within a month of service . Six months prior to this I had contacted Dr. Holden's office for my medical records needed for a lawsuit. I picked them up in person and there was no mention of unpaid bills . They were just trying to hit up my lawyer for some quick cash. Doctors like this give chiropractic's a bad name and Dr. Holden should not be trusted. I can't help but wonder if he changed the name of his ""HealthFirst Chiropractic Center"" to ""HealthFirst Wellness Center"" to eliminate the bad reviews he had. People please beware so this or any of his other scams does not catch you. more

I've never seen a chiropractor before for my back pain and didn't know what to expect. Needless to say I am thrilled with my experience at HealthFirst! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the facility is clean and relaxing, and the adjustments have had a significant affect on decreasing my lower back and sciatic pain. I am 3 weeks in and have at least another 5 weeks to go. I will post another review once I have completed the process. more

This was my first experience with a chiropractor and I was a little nervous. But those nerves quickly disappeared after simply making my appointment! Stephanie, the receptionist, was extremely helpful. She answered all of my questions and put me at ease. Dr. Kurt did a great job of explaining to me everything that was going on as well as walking me through the procedure. He even gave me a follow up call the next day to check on me! Being pregnant, I'm very hesitant to trust my health and my baby's health with just anyone. Healthfirst has earned my trust. Great staff, can't wait to go back!!! more

So I have been to chiropractors before but none like Healthfirst. Some just want to pop you left and right and then send you out the door telling you to come back tomorrow. Dr. Holden took time to help me figure out what was really going on. I have had numbness in my arms that would keep me up for nights. I no longer have any numbness and I feel so much better. I first started seeing Dr. Holden for sciatic pain down the back of my right leg. Well after he quickly took care of that pain, he explained all about my spine and how it was connected to my central nervous system which in turn controls all of my organs. Well, every visit turns into an instructional class for me alone and I end up spilling my whole life story to this man who really cares about my overall mental and physical health! After several visits, I have also noticed that my restless leg syndrome has all but disappeared and I have no more unbearable lower back pain when I do marathon shopping. My sinus headaches disappear after his sinus massages and of course the sciatic back pain is history. The rest of the staff is also extremely pleasant and helpful and greet me by my first name when I walk in the door. I keep going back for what I call my tune ups and attend the free seminars which have reduced my stress level and changed my nutrition. I highly recommend the Healthfirst doctors and staff to anyone searching for an overall healthy and painfree life! more

I have been going to different chiropractors for low back pain for over 30 years just to maintain the pain I experienced on a daily basis. This was the first time someone explained exactly what was going on with my spine and how it can be corrected. I was experiencing headaches daily for several weeks to the point of not being able to function and do my job as well as I wanted to. After visiting the docs for two months, I no longer have a chronic headache, my back is doing better than ever. I didn't want to settle for an MD just giving me pain meds, this was the solution. I would like to recommend HealthFirst Wellness Center for all of your South Austin or Greater Austin Chiropractic needs. I have had excellent care here for 6+ months and would recommend their practice for anyone seeking chiropractic services. I sought chiropractic care after a variety of more traditional treatments weren't working for me. From the beginning, I really appreciated the attention that Dr. Holden gave me each time I was there. It was very different from the cattle call type doctor's visit that we've all experienced. In the beginning of my care, I was especially impressed with the time Dr. Holden spent with me explaining my varied stress related issues and how they all were interacting in my body and how I could treat my total person. I found his advice, both during adjustments and for other total wellness issues very helpful and inspiring. Everyone's needs for chiropractic care are different and I know that my experience during the initial, and now maintenance phase of my treatment was very satisfactory. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful and it's always nice to see Stephanie's smiling face when you arrive for you adjustment. Thoughtful, considerate, professional and personalized chiropractic and wellness care. June 2011 will be my one year anniversary visiting Healthfirst at least once a week and my spinal health has significantly improved. They also offer informative wellness classes and have a great massage therapist on site. more

I have been plagued by lower back and neck pain for a while from time to time and have been a regular at physical therapists office for the last 10 years, but I had never been to a chiropractor. \r I recently attended a seminar by Dr Holden and went into his office to check it out and see if he could help me and its been one of the best decisions that I have made. Instead of treating the symptoms of my problem (which is what most of modern medicine does today), he is working towards fixing the root cause of my lower back and neck problems. Dr Holden and his support staff are excellent and they are always listening to you and making changes to the care as the my body is going through its healing process. Dr Holden and his team will work with you to have a home care (workouts / stretching at home) in place so there is constant feedback between the doctor and patient.\r Also as a bonus my dandruff problem has gone away which was something that I was not expecting at all. I have had dandruff for the longest time and had to treat with shampoos on a regular basis to keep under control. Dr Holden has since provided me with reading material from a study that showed 80% of skin problems have shown improvement under chiropractic care. \r I would recommed Dr Holden for anyone who wants a chirpractor who will work with you to have a better quality of life. \r more

I came to HealthFirst Wellness after having a bad experience at another Chiropractors office and I could not be happier with Dr. Holden and the rest of the staff! I was going to this other chiropractor for having neck/upper back pains and mild scoliosis. I would get ""fixed up"" temporarily and then sent on my way, but was only getting a temporary fix to the problem. I took about 2 months off from going anywhere for my neck pains and they gradually became worse and worse until I had to do something about it. At my first appointment I was very hesitant about going to another chiropractor. I have always been ""afraid"" of adjustments and hated them before going to this office. At my first appointment they did some tests, took x-rays and answered questions. When I came back I was very impressed and knew that this was the doctor that I had been looking for. He explained every question and concern that I had about going to a chiropractor and made sure that I left without any questions. He also made sure to ease my mind about adjustments and explain what they are doing for my body. I have been going to him for about 4 months and I couldn't be more pleased! Every time I go to see Dr. Holden I can tell he actually cares about my well being and my overall health. This is not just a chiropractors office. They care about you, they care about your health and care about more than just temporarily fixing the problem. I now go to their office twice a week and am no longer afraid of adjustments! I love his staff and enjoy going to see him every week! I have seen a ton of improvement in my daily life and always feel better when I leave. I had never been to a chiropractor before but thought one might be able to help eliminate the periodic numbness I was experiencing in my arm. I learned about HealthFirst from a presentation Dr. Holden made at a local business and decided to give them a try. From my very first visit, I have been deeply impressed with the personal care and attention I have received. Every question is answered in as little or much detail as you need. You never get that ""hurried"" feeling like you normally get at the doctor's office. The entire staff is not only friendly and courteous, but also very professional. The clinic is well organized, clean, and complete with a full spectrum of chiropractic gear. I have been going to HealthFirst for 6+ months so far and I'm feeling more healthy now than in a very long time. Within the first weeks of treatment, I could feel significant improvement in my arm. The numbness is now completely gone. With my regular visits to HealthFirst, I have become more active and have started running and going to the gym again. I was so blessed to be introduced to chiropractic almost three years ago when I started feeling awful, debilitating lower back pain. I had never been to a chiropractor before, and a good friend of mine told me about hers. I loved it, and was extremely sad to leave when I moved away. If you are looking for a chiropractor who cares about you and your overall health- look no further! I used to suffer from migraines twice a month. Since I started receiving care my migraines are now few and far between and the pain is much more manageable! The pain in my lower back is almost gone! The biggest surprise since starting treatment- my blood pressure, which has always been high, is now within normal range for the first time in years! He is knowledgeable and friendly; the best in the area!! more
