Bad Food, No menu for lunch 12/8/2011

I checked the buffet out for lunch and was not impressed. They would not let me order off the menu. The nan was bad, the lentils and spinach were runny. The potatoes were so salty they were inedible. Yuck! more

Great Place 8/17/2011

I was amazed for their service. It's pretty cool, good for Indian's. I will go there again. If you want to save some bucks, you need to collect gift certificate from QuarterOFF. com Haveli Indian Cuisine is great. more

Worst Food + Bad attitude = I wonder how they are in busines 3/20/2011

The food is so horrible to call it Indian cuisine is a disgrace to the cullinary traditions and the great country India. Have you ever been to a place where the Manager tells you if you don't like our food, please do not come and we know what we serve ? To add to that when the check comes there are items we never ordered or served. Even after pointing out, i had to speak to 3 people to take it off the check. STAY AWAY! I would give ZERO or -10 if I could. more

The rice is horrible too!! 8/3/2010

The papadums were cold and seemed out of a box. I was charged extra for the rice (as if you could eat mattar paneer without it) and it was awful, stale, all stuck together, plain cheap white rice and very old! The paneer tasted like styrofoam and there were only 7 small chunks. Not a lot of food and it had no spice in it. The sauce was lumpy! I can cook better food myself and I am not Indian. The decor is of pretty bad taste but the location is very convenient. The service was comparable to the food. STAY AWAY! more

Good, but not great 11/3/2009

Just had lunch there, and the food was good. Conveniently close to downtown hotels, frienldly staff. The buffettem, however, did not have enough dishes, so a lot o repeats. Goat dish was mostly bones, but all others were good. Not the best I have ever had, but not awful. Pros: Clean, location, ambience Cons: Buffet is kind of small more

Fabulous Indian Restaurant 7/3/2009

My husband and I had dinner at Haveli's and everything was great. We had samosas, saag, okra, dahl, nan, rice pudding and it was all great. The service was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant. A real gem. more

Delicious Northern Indian 6/28/2009

Been going here for years and it is still the best in Atlanta! Pros: food is great! Raj is exceptional. more

Avoid always - too expensive and not good food 10/28/2008

I'm a consultant and been to some good and bad restaurants through my travels, this one has to rate amongst THE bottom. The food is not tasty or flavorful, just a big place with a lot of empty tables, location is great right in down town close to Westin, ambience is not too bad. \r \r The menu is North Indian, but clearly owned and operating (importantly - cooking) is by bangladeshis..I don't know why they have to call the restaurant Indian cause clearly they don't know how to cook Indian food. I asked for spicy, they just dumped whole of chilli powder, reheated and brought it back. Service is ok. Beware, they include 15% tip automatically and you are not told of it. It is not as much as an issue as just food quality and value for money. exorbitantly priced. \r \r Honestly, will never go there again, nor would recommend it to any one. too bad we stayed in downtown away from alpharetta and other places where all good Indian food restaurants are. anyway, next time I have to be in Atlanta and even if it were the only open restaurant around late. I wouldn't still go to it. more

Haveli : Worst Restaurant in Atlanta 10/25/2008

Bad food...\r Rude Service...\r \r Almost every item is leftovers..... and stale...\r I recommend not to visit this restaurant even by chance. more

OK food, but the service is RUDE and AWFUL! 9/8/2008

I took my gf there last night - we got there at 8.15pm, there were 2 other couples there also finishing up their meal. I really like their Chicken Maghni, but their appetizers or Naan's are nothing to rave about. So at one point we were the only people there at that time and this place advertises opening hours until 10pm/10.30pm on sunday nights. Right before 9pm they decide to cut off the music completely and so for good 15 mins there was no music and the waiter (as unattentive as he had been the whole night) basically tried to hurry us out of there as he could. So all in all the service there is really rude - I regretted leaving them tips - they deserved a big zero ($0) - especially after charging us extra for one portion of Rice! I might consider this place for pickup only - but to dine in there - NEVER AGAIN! Pros: Chicken Maghni Cons: Service! more

Exquisite Indian Cuisine 7/17/2008

Easy to get to with easy downtown parking, Haveli's Chef Raja and staff provided us an incredible meal with various levels of heat and a barrage of flavors certainly characteristic of authentic Indian cuisine. For he uneducated epicurean, Chef Raja enabled our outstanding meal by personally helping us choose Garlic Naan, Tandori Chicken, and Shrimp Vindaloo ? all Very Good!! Pros: Great Selection, Great Flavor, Easy access more

Great for vegetarians. 5/12/2008

I too am surprised by the negative comments. I love this place. It's the only decent place around here where an vegetarian can eat something filling OTHER than tofu! Pros: Great vegetarian food. Cons: It is a bit pricey but if you use your downtown rewards card, you get a discount. more

Nice Indian Restaurant 5/6/2008

Good Indian Restaurant:\r Food is good. I ordered Saag panner for dinner with Nans. It's awesome. I liked it very much. It's hot, spicy, tastey. The waiters are very nice and care with your specific needs in the food.\r \r \r Pros: Location, Service, Food more

Bad restaurant 1/1/2008

Bad Indian restaurant..Bad Buffet..Been there twice for buffet and the food was horrible!\r Ordered once on menu for dinner- expensive, stale, below average food.\r The waiters are indifferent and rarely care with your specific needs in the food, if requested.\r Needless to say not planning for a Fourth Rendezvous.\r Pros: Location Cons: Expensive, Small Serving Portions, Indifferent Staff more

avoid this place 12/8/2007

The food is stale and served in very small portions. The worst part is the staff-they are rude, and in my case a 15% tip was already added to the bill for the totally lousy service and when i got up without leaving any additional tip,i was actually cursed out by a waiter-who called me a cheap indian and muttered that despite being a doctor i was too cheap to tip(since i was there was a medical conference i had a badges which showed i am a MD).I am never coming back here again and would not recommend this palce to anyone-i think the owner had posted some decent reveiws to try and cover up his short comings. Pros: hard to think off Cons: staff,food,service,attitude... more

Best Indian food ever 4/8/2007

I am shocked to read the other reviews that say this place was bad. This is the best indian food we have ever eaten and I have eaten at a great many restaurants in many different countries. I have actually driven an hour and a half to eat here. As for the staff being unfriendly I think maybe these people were in a different restaurant. The staff always come to our table and chat with us. The owner who is also the chef comes to our table and talks to us about how we like our food and then goes and cooks it a la carte. The waiters are extremely friendly, attentive and cordial. It is a pleasure to dine in this establishment. Whoever wrote the food was bland must have no taste buds. Sounds to me like somebody is trying to damage this restaurant by writing lies. I suggest you go and see for yourself. The food is worth every penny (which isn't that much) portions are extremely generous and is cooked to each individuals specifications (where else can you get that?), the restaurant is also beautifully decorated with a inviting atmosphere. Pros: Taste, ambience, service more

Up to standard where I'm from 3/28/2007

I've been to a lot of Indian places in Portland and I have to say, in short, Haveli is comparable with any one in Portland. The food is really good, in fact it's been a long time since I've had bad Indian food. The waiting staff was a little ""confused"" for lack of a better word, so some of our orders were wrong, but it was no big deal, we wanted to try different things anyway. I'll cut them a break because they said the big conferences in town that weekend had really drained the staff...I hope they are ready for Final Four weekend though. \r \r It's all good stuff. I can't really recommend one thing over the other. Ask the server for some recommendations if you wish. The prices were comparable for a downtown area. I don't know how many indian places Atlanta has, but I'll go here again if I'm in town and have a hankering. Pros: Tasty food, friendly service. Great location for grabbing a bite before a game Cons: No split checks. Naan is extra. more

Haveli Indian Cuisine 2/11/2007

My wife and I went to Haveli a couple weeks back. We really enjoyed it! The waiter made some excellent suggestions, and took the time to explain about the dishes and Indian food in general. Most importantly, the food was fantastic. Unlike some downtown restaurants, Haveli has convenient parking. We live in the area, so it?s great to know we have such a fine spot nearby. Pros: Food, service, parking more
