The SceneAdmit it: There's something magical about a frothy, drop-waist gown. Perhaps women are tiring of that angular Banana Republic look. Perhaps the '20s are eternally hip. Whatever the reason, Haroon's has been in business for more than 20 years, proving that women never outgrow their dress-up instincts.The GoodsBrands are rather obscure (Wind River? Papillons?). But the lure is really the store itself. Haroon's two locations are indescribably elegant. Flowing gowns drape almost every inch, while glass jewelry sparkles on the countertop. Dresses are mostly vintage in design, mimicking the understated elegance of the 1920s and '30s. Expect to spend anywhere from $50 to $200 for a dress. Jewelry is reasonably priced at about $20 for a necklace.
