Great Pizza! Polite service!

We called for delivery, the service felt very rushed and rude. The pizza was burned (black) on the bottom and the sauce was too sweet. (Agh!!)

The pizza is pretty good. Its pretty thin so you end up eating a lot of it! I would order again more

We LOVE LOVE LOVE Hard Times Pizza. Amazing pizza, usually one Cheese Pizza and one Genoa Salami/Mushrooms with Pesto Sauce. TRY THE PESTO PIZZA, it's amazing. We may or may not order from them twice or more a week... Yikes. Nice staff, quick delivery, too hot to even touch, fresh ingredients and great delivery guy. more

I'll just go pick it up next time. Driver was so mad at me, he said "don't call us again because you're too far!" more

It took an hour and 20 minutes to deliver the pizza. I live 5 minutes away. The order was wrong and the delivery guy was rude when I would not tip him. Go figure...I will not be ordering from here again. Thanks EAT24HOURS for your service in handling the matter professionally. more

I ordered pizza and it was delivered in 30 min. The pizza is always delivered hot, the drivers are always friendly, and overall it is great. I tried many other pizzas, but this one is the BEST. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PIZZA TO EVERYBODY. Pros: BEST PIZZA EVER!!!!!!!! more

Don't order delivery 10/15/2009

I go there for a slice sometimes, and it's amazing - such a yummy NYC style pizza. Then I order a pie and it's disgusting. Tons of mealy cheese, crust is thick and hardly any sauce at all. Happened three times over two years (1st time I figured just a bad pie, 2nd time I was annoyed then this time I just plum forgot how bad it was and ordered on a whim) Do they call out to another pizza place for their deliveries?? Or do they just grab an old pie, throw crap on it and toss it in the oven. Either way - epic fail!! Not even going back for the slice pizza I always liked. Pros: in restaurant = good Cons: delivery = straight to trash more

When sometimes the only things you really appreciate to be vintage, is the taste. 2/20/2009

My most recent visit to Hard Times Pizza Co. was very much like any other time , consistent. The youthful staff may intimidate some, but they don't bite! The barbeque chicken is my most favorite slice out of that estabilishment by far! i noticed the addition of the fountain drinks as well, its nice to see that some parts of the neighborhood aren't always falling into the vintage thing. The taste however, was and still is Hard Times Pizza Co..\r \r au revoir,\r Frances\r \r Pros: instant gratification, and they are open late as well. Cons: parking, but i park across the street at the market, no problem! more

awesome! 2/6/2009

I LOVE their tomato basil. Meatball sandwich is great also. My experiences with staff were pleasant. more

Yummy! 1/3/2009

Hard Times is my fav pizza place in LA. The slices are just the right thickness, and not too greasy or saucy or cheesy! I agree, that the staff is pretty apathetic, but whatever, it's a pizza joint! Any teenagers behind a counter are going to be bitchy. It doesn't phase me, the pizza is too good. Pros: deeeeelish pizza! Cons: saucy staff more

Twice I ordered the Special Package Deal (online) and both times they left out the brownies and today they left out the dinner salad! How is that overlooked? Must add the delivery staff is always super friendly and the food is good... if you get what you ordered! more

I just love their pizza. The clerks are always friendly, the pizza is always hot and fresh when you pick it up, and they almost never make you wait for your order. more

Hair burnt to the crust 12/3/2007

I've been to hard times many times and recently, went back to get a slice. As I sat to let the pepperoni slice cool off, I noticed on the bottom of the crust that there was a hair stuck & burned to the crust. I showed it to them & they were not even phased by the crunchy twisted black hair. I really wanted a slice of pizza so I asked if I could get another one. As I sat and waited for the new slice, I thought about it. Do I really want another slice from Hard Times. Plus, they didn't even offer a refund and the free slice. The woman even have a nerve to get mad at me when I finally asked for a refund. WOW! Things have changed with these 'new' recent owners/management. They sure are bringing Hard Times to a record low. I've lost my taste forever. Go somewhere else & fast! Cons: hair stuck on crust, parking lot, service very poor more

Best pizza around! 9/24/2007

They have the best pizza! I love the thin and thick crust. The spaghetti is also very good and it comes with a large fresh garden salad and french bread. So good, I have it delivered once a week. more
