My husband and I paid for a week here because it is cheap and allowed our two big dogs. We were given a decent room at first, but on the second day they said the needed to paint that room and we needed to move. They then put us in a small filthy room with outlets sticking out of the wall. The shower and tv didn't work and they refused to move us again. The manager came in and ""fixed"" the shower, but that was a joke as it still didn't work after he left.
At the end of the week we needed to stay another week and our budget was tight so we we said if they would move us back to the first room we would pay for one more week. They moved us back to the other room and we paid for one more week. The walls had the same marks on them as before, meaning room had not been repainted and they lied to us.
Two hours after we moved my husband went to the store. I laid down for a nap. Suddenly the phone started ringing off the hook, waking me up and someone was pounding on the door. Pounding and pounding, making my protective dog go nuts. Part of the reason we have that dog is for my protection when my husband is gone, and I did not want to open the door to a man, manager or not, when my husband was out of the room. Whatever they wanted could wait a half hour until he returned. As soon as my husband pulled up outside the manager ran out to our car screaming at him. He said the lady at the desk could not rent the room we were in out on a weekly basis and we HAD to move back to the crappy room immediately. They had voided our keys and if I had been out with my husband and not asleep in the room we would have been locked out of the room we paid for with our dogs and our belongings inside!
We flat out refused to move again and finally the manager agreed to give us a full refund for the week.
We went to work moving our stuff out of the room and the whole time the obnoxious manager was calling and telling us to hurry up. He acted like it was our fault when we did nothing but pay for the room! The hotel screwed up, not us, and there is no reason why we should have had to move at all!
When we got done moving we went down to the office to get our full refund as promised and they refused to give us all our money back. In the end we were stranded with no money to go elsewhere because this stupid place stole our money and refused to give it back! And we didn't do anything wrong! They screwed up and made us pay for it!
After we left the lobby a lady who had been in there using the phone came out and told us she had stayed there the previous night and was waiting for her ride to come pick her up and the manager threw he out of the lobby! In 96 degree Texas heat in the middle of the day!
These foreign people who run the Hallmark Inn had NO CLUE what customer service is. Never in my life have I been treated so rudely by any business. DO NOT STAY HERE!
