We've started buying our kids just one pair of shoes at each size. Good shoes, that make their feet feel good, that look great, and that are not made in an Asian country. Sometimes, these shoes cost us more than we spend on their entire seasonal wardrobe, what with hand-me-downs and Target (where everything comes from an Asian country). We get these shoes at Haggis McBaggis. They have beautiful children's shoes, as well as being a fun and seriously child-friendly store. They have some of the same styles as Nordstrom, and similar prices, but they are a mom-and-pop shop that is worth the trip if you were going to buy your child nice shoes anyway. Plus, cute accessories, locally made children's clothes, and some shoes for mom, too.
