DO NOT. I REPEAT DO NOT BUY ANYTHING HERE. i ordered my bridesmaid dresses here and it was the BIGGEST DISASTER EVER. Ana sized all of my girls HORRIBLY - their seamstresses practically had to remake their dresses to look at all presentable. Worst of all, Ana ordered one of my girls a completely wrong size. She had to re-order the dress which took months and it almost didn't make it for my wedding! I came here because the prices were a little bit better and I wanted to save my girls some money. However, the cost to fix Ana's mistakes and the horror of dealing with her (RUDE!) was not NEARLY worth it. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place with all costs. I never take the time to write these reviews but I honestly felt obligated to after my terrible experience. This is the most HORRIBLE place you could go to. Anna- the rude lady who runs the shop or whatever was insane. First off- when the dress was ordered she measured me and said based on the dress I was buying what size it needed to be. In the time between ordering the dress and when it came in I had lost 1 street/regular dress size, and about 10 lbs. When the dress came out of the bag it was too small to even be able to try on correctly. When she realized how small it was and that there was no way it would be able to fit around my hips, she said ""how come you got fat?!"" She started insulted me and telling me not to eat chocolates and junk food all day and that i needed to diet. I'm a size 6 in regular dresses, i weigh 145 lbs and am 5'6. I do not have a weight problem. She get going on and on about how much weight i gained, etc. etc.. Next visit, same thing. At the very final fitting after the dress has been let out as much as possible AND I've lost an additional 5 lbs... She says ""But you still got fat... It's tight. You got even a little fatter."" At this point i was in tears. BC she's made me feel like i look horrible and ugly in my dress every time I've put it on. My best friend told her off. When I went in to pick up for my wedding and pay for alterations she was like--- ""Don't worry, I'm fat too, see!"" I cannot believe I let this woman make me feel horrible about myself for the past 6 months. When I took the dress home, it fit great and there was no struggle like she did in the shop every time she put it on me. DO NOT BUY YOUR DRESS THERE. That crazy insane woman is lucky no bride has clocked her light out. I wish I would have just taken the dress somewhere else for alterations the first time she called me fat. \r \r more

Great selection from classic to modern styles, and a friendly staff too! All in all I had a wonderful time shopping at H & S. more

I was amazed by the selection when I walked in. So many gorgeous gowns and dresses. After going there I told my husband we had to get married more than once so I could wear more of the great stuff they had here. more

I shopped around for my dress for a long time... traveling from shop to shop and believe it or not, I was getting to the point where it was not fun to shop anymore. Luckily I went to H & S Bridal hoping to find a dress that I would love, and guess what??? I found the dress of my dreams. When I tried it on it looked like it had come straight out of a bridal magazine. I am so happy I went to H & S. more

I dealt with Hanna and she was wonderful. The store is in a great location - and best of all they have beautiful dresses. Fair prices for amazing dresses. I found my favorite dress there, and I am so happy that I have already referred two friends. more

I am so happy I went to H & S Bridals! I couldn't have asked for a better selection of gowns to choose from. The staff was friendly and most of all helpful. I will go back and also recommend to friends. more

If you want to be pampered and pay a lot of $$$, then this place is not for you.\r If you are on a budget and know what you want - you cannot find a better place then H & S Bridals.\r This place has a great variety or dresses: wedding gowns, bridesmaids, MoB and prom. Anna is an excellent seamstress, she works very fast and her dresses fit like a glove.\r If she tells you the dress will be ready on a certain day, it is ready. I could come in and try on my dress as many times as I wanted. But the final alterations were made a week before the wedding and Anna had me pick the dresses up just before the wedding. This way it was foolproofed that the dress fits like it's supposed to and it won't get wrinkled etc.\r My whole bridal party got their dresses from Anna, and everyone looked gorgeous at the wedding.\r Prices are good and workmanship is excellent.\r I would recommend H&S Bridals to anyone. more

I had an appointment at another bridal boutique in the city... coming in from NJ we had gotten into NY a bit early. At breakfast we had stumbled upon an ad in Bride Magazine for ""The Bridal Building"". The Bridal Buidling, where H&S is located was very close to where we were eating. With a coupld of hours to kill, we said lets go check it out....When we walked in we were a little taken back by the space. There are a number of dresses in a small amount of space. My mother and I grabbed 4 dresses and went back to try them on... we were, for the most part, on our own. We did not have the same experience as the other girl who wrote a review...as far as a charge for trying on? I tried on the 3rd dress and it was THE dress!!! I thought it was the most beautiful dress I had tried on, even after going to the best of the best bridal salons in NJ! The price was amazing and much more reasonable than other boutiques. Anna did work on the price and we could not have been more pleased!!!! She said the dress would be in within 3 months....and it was! She let me come up just to try it on eventhough I did not want to have an official fitting at that point.... she was so excited for me... as far as the fondling... she is an old school seamstress and Im sure she is not interested feeling people but more so to get an amazing fit which my dress turned out to be!!!! You need to have a sense of humor and not be so uptight! I have been up 2 times...1st to try it on for the fun of it... and 2nd for my fitting! I found Anna nothing but pleasant!!!!!! She is even letting me keep my dress there until I can take it home...which most salons make you take it as soon as the alterations are done.... I am heading back in 2 weeks to pick it up and I will actually be a bit sad that I wont be visiting with Anna anymore! I think its a great boutique and that its a MUST to go and browse.... just realize it is a severely small space and you will be fine! Best selection and best prices in NYC!!!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT H&S BRIDAL! Not to sound cliche, but I've never written a review in my life, but my horrible experience at H & S Bridal compelled me to warn any one considering go there to reconsider. I made an appointment to try on a specific bridesmaid dress on a Sunday, and went there with 3 of my 7 bridesmaids, one of whom came in from Jersey. The store is a tiny cramped space, overflowing with dresses. There is no room to walk, sit or really even stand. Once we got there, Anna, whom I made the appointment with on the phone, appears from the back room not knowing what we were there for, even though I'd called to confirm my appointment on Thursday and asked about the specific dress. She finally remembered and got the dress out, but knew nothing about it -- she didn't know what sizes it came in, what colors, and even better, the man behind the desk didn't even know how much it cost. They only had one dress in one size, and while the 3rd bridesmaid from Jersey was a little late, one of the girls who was there tried it on. Anna completely manhandled her, very unprofessionaly just telling her to take her clothes off and then touching her all over, including after sneezing. Throughout this process, I mentioned at least 3 times that another girl was coming who would ty on the dress as well. This wasn't a problem until Anna tried to force us to order the dress on the spot, and we said we were still deciding. At that point, Anna and the man behind the desk got very mean and Anna told me that it would cost $25 for anyone else to try on the dress! Apparently, their store policy is that one person can try it on for free, but after that it's a $25 fee that's waived ONLY if you order the dress! I couldn't believe it! I told her that she should tell her customers this when they make an appointment to TRY on dresses, to which she replied that the policy is stated on the website. I never saw anything about it. Needless to say, we left immediately. H & S Bridal does nothing to make the wedding experience a pleasant one, and there is no reason to give your business to them when there are so many more professional and helpful bridal stores in the area. I live in VA, so I drove to NYC to pick up my dress that I was hoping to be ready, after i called her several times and told her that i'm driving to pick up my dress and she said that it's ready...I went there and boom....the dress was not ready and she claimed that she made a mistake but she was clearly lying! she was ignorant and not sorry at all that I drove all the way from VA (6hrs) to come to nyc for nothing...they are terrible people! Pros: I found the dress I liked Cons: the owners are irresponsible and liars and disorganized and don't deliver on their promises more
