Condo was gorgeous, dealing with HRW, in particular, Lisa Holmes, was a nightmare. She was an extremely poor representation of the company. \r \r The condo was beautiful, in a great location, and I was really able to fix it up so I got a million compliments when folks came over. However, HRW, and really Lisa Holmes in particular was really difficult to deal with. \r \r Lisa Holmes (not Sarner, there are two Lisas at that office) was often extremely rude and difficult to deal with, and difficult to get ahold of. She spoke often in a condescending and rude manner, and acted as though she had to move heaven and earth to get basic repairs done. We'd have to email or call constantly to get things done, and when the work was completed, it was often done half-way. We lived for a little over a year with a leaky shower, a hot-water heater that was only big enough for half of a shower, and with things that their repair folks had randomly left around our apartment. \r \r Additionally, Lisa was extremely rude, and it was stressful to ever have to deal with her. I'm not sure if she's aware of the manner she speaks to people in, but it was horrible. I've since started my own property management company, and no matter how difficult the tenant (and we've had 'em), I try to treat them with respect, a skill which Holmes severely lacks. \r \r Finally, Lisa Holmes lies. She will say one thing, and do something completely differently. You'll be charged for things she explicitly says you won't, and you will get strange emails that seem to be the opposite of what you've just talked about. I'm not sure if she intentionally lies, or if she really doesn't remember the things she says and the promises she makes, but it was a consistent thing. \r \r Bottom line? Rent here at your own risk of being SUPER aggravated. Like I said, I loved the condo, and it was in a great location, but Lisa Holmes was terrible to deal with, and prompted me to open my own company so folks don't have to deal with people like her. The other folks in her office are nice enough, but she makes it so you never want to deal with that company again. more

I moved out of one of their rental units at the end of last year and never had any issues during my lease. I had a couple appliances break but they fixed those with new within a day or two. Pretty sure they contract with the original owners of the individual units for repair costs and whatnot so maybe these other reviews weren’t so lucky with their place’s owners. No idea. My place was close to downtown. I only moved because I got married and moved in with my husband.\r \r You can just mail your rent check each month, so no matter where you end up living in the area it’s pretty convenient. I barely went to the office after I initially leased, but when I did I got nothing but help. I usually stuck to email and got responses back that day. I’d definitely recommend HRW Realty! Rental Management at it's absolute WORST. 1/4/2010

Do Not rent anything from these people! This company has gone down hill- they will put their expenses first before they will dare take care of your rental unit even when it affects your health. I've been met with condescending attitudes (from mostly 1 person), indignant responses,and I've been treated very poorly for being a well paying tenant that's been in the unit for several years. I had the worst rental experience with this company and would like to warn others. HRW Realty did not handle anything in a professional or courteous manner. The manager in charge was disrespectful and indignant towards repairs or help. There were several repairs that I made myself and chose to by-pass HRW because of the lengthy wait for assistance or the hassle that I was given. I spent over $1,000 on repairs for a rental unit where I should have received all repairs within a reasonable amount of time. Upon my first week of move in, my washer, dryer, stove and oven were all broken. The move-in checkist did not cover all appliances and I had no idea that these appliances were broken. A property management company is a large factor in renting or leasing. HRW failed to meet any repair needs I had within a reasonable time frame without clear hesitation. Cons: Everything more

I rented from HRW last year and was beyond happy with the service and help they provided! When the property I was living in was turned over to another property management company i was so disappointed. I had already thought that the people at HRW were wonderful but after working with another company, I look back and appreciate them even more! They are always prompt in returning your calls and send people out to fix things literally asap, and if they say they're going to send someone tomorrow at 2, trust me, someone will be there tomorrow at 2. They're really great, they bent over backwards for me when I was a new tenant and they didn't even know me yet. I just really cant say enough great things about everyone there. I wish I were in the market to buy a home because they are the first people I would go to. I unfortunately had to move out of the property I was at because the company that took over was so horrible I couldn't stand it any longer and am now renting in an apartment complex. I couldn't go back to HRW to rent again only because the properties they had available were all too big for me at the time when I was looking (I'm single and don't have a lot of stuff, plus I work in the nonprofit/social services field so it's not like I can afford a whole lot more than I need). Anyway, I really can't say enough great things about HRW. I've worked in professional customer service before and I know how difficult it can be at times, but they never make you feel like your inconveniencing them, which really puts you as a tenant at ease. I never dreaded calling them, actually i looked forward to it sometimes because they're so nice I could chat on the phone with the receptionist for a while if she didn't have work to do! Anyone who has any further questions about them feel free to contact me because I really appreciated them and I think it's important to spread the word about a company that's doing a great job. Word of mouth is the best advertising they say! Pros: Extremely helpful, bends over backward for good tenants Cons: None whatsoever more
