Outstanding, authentic all-around great food. We LOVE the pork medallions, grilled asparagus and artichoke dip.

Delivery was long. Food tasted like cardboard and was cold by the time it got to us. Mushrooms tasted freezer burned. more

Consistently the worst service in Houston 8/19/2011

I live in the area, and ever since I moved here about 10 years ago, I have eaten here every 2 years or so. It never changes - the service is always horrendous. The visit that really stands out is the last one, in 2010 - after waiting forever for the waiter to take my order, another server eventually delivered my food and took off. I realized I hadn't been brought any utensils - and since I was on the patio, it was 10 minutes (!) before I finally got someone's attention to get a fork. So of course the food was cold by then. It was another 20 minutes before I could get my waiter's attention to get my check. And yes, I did keep track on my watch, because I expected the service to be slow! I decided then that they weren't getting any more chances from me. more

Inconsistent quality of food, poor service 7/10/2009

Their website says they are open until 10 pm. I called last night at 9:15 pm for take out and their hostess said they were closed and hung up on me. I called back and asked for the manager, the manager told me it had been slow all night so they were closing !!! Not exactly a great way to build up your business because it maybe it is slow sometimes and you want to go home. If a restaurant that has been in business for a number of years is that slow something is very wrong with they way they are doing business. I have had the Insalada Mista and it is very good. The problem is the Hispanic lady making the salad was not wearing gloves and while making my salad she would touch her face or scratch her head, then go back to making my salad. I was watching this person make my salad and when she was done I told the manager that this employee should be wearing gloves and that I want another salad made. The wait staff is friendly, but at times from my observation are more geared towards socializing with each other than being concerned about their tables. Obviously as previously reviewed by Angela (a manager) customers are not their number one priority or they would not be closing early to go home. The managers really don't have a clue. Pros: Menu variety Cons: Poor management, Lack of trained wait staff more

Come try us! 3/4/2008

I have been working at Collina's for almost ten years. Started while in high school. I am currently managing the restaurant now for about 4 years along with 2 other managers and best friends. I assure you our food is great! Our tira misu is the best! For the service, I see that comments were written in 2002. It is 2008 now and I am sure that the service is better then ever, customers are our number one priority! Come visit us at Collina's and enjoy our tasty food and great service! Pros: friendly faces, family restaurant, and great food Cons: parking, spacing inside resturant more

The Salads Are FABULOUS! 1/3/2007

Today, my co-worker and I ordered Collina's (this location) through Take-Out Taxi. With the New Year, I've changed my diet and instead of what I would normally get at an Italian cafe, I got the Insalata Mazzoni. BEST SALAD EVER is all I have to say!!! The price is affordable ($7..99) and the size was ample (large take-out container). Even though it came to us via Take-Out, it was still fresh and flavorful! The dressing is delicious and a welcome respite from the ordinary. There is a perfect balance between the pears, the mandarin oranges, the mixed greens, the pecans, cheese, and grapefruit pieces. I highly recommend this particular item off the menu. I've never physically been to Collina's, but I certainly will go there NOW knowing that they have made a salad that won't make me miss ""heavy"" food at all. HAPPY 2007 TO YOU ALL! Pros: Large Selection, Good Price more

I found my favorite Italian Cafe. 1/27/2006

Good food, reasonable price, friendly service, neighborhood atmosphere. The focaccia bread is wonderful. Spaghett with meatballs was good. I will be back. more

Bravisimo! 9/2/2003

We eat there about once a week. I think the food is great. Try the eggplant parmesan meal, it is excellent. I have tried many other great Italian restaurants and I think the food here definately measures up. more

No cork fee 12/7/2002

Collinas allows customers to bring their own wine or beer. There is a nominal cork fee for wine that they usually do not charge. The food is good and not too expensive. It's a nice little neighborhood restaurant Pros: Inexpensive, Quaint, Good Food Cons: Sometimes a wait more

Great 10/24/2002

I eat here frequently because the food is good and inexpensive. The pizzas are the best that I've ever had, especially the Margherita, and the desserts aren't bad either. They have these huge pizzas that can feed so many. Although the food is good, the service is somewhat lacking. The important part is, you walk away happy. more

Service could use big improvement! 7/17/2002

Collina's could be a really great place to go for a casual, pretty good meal, but the service is always a battle. From start to finish - meals usually take forever and then some. If they would do something about the service, we would start going back . . . Cons: service, service, service more
