Save your time and go somewhere else. This place has a great atmosphere, but the food is just tasteless and expensive. I would rather go to a hole in the wall down Gessner that ...

Worst Mexican food ever 2/13/2012

Well, this was one of the pricier Mexican take outs I ever had, but I figured if the food was good, then it would be worth it. The food was so far from good. Portions are tiny, The salsas both green and red are heavy handed on the vinegar taste. Also, it was new to me to pay extra for take out. I am not sure how they justify that? Anyway this is hands down the worst Mexican food I have ever had. more

Waist Of Money 3/14/2011

Save your time and go somewhere else. This place has a great atmosphere, but the food is just tasteless and expensive. I would rather go to a hole in the wall down Gessner that has some flavor. more

Always a Hit! 10/17/2010

Guadalajara is my favorite place to have drinks and eat those awesome Flautita's at the bar. Don't forget the empanada's! Me and my wife love the Guadarita on the rocks. If your going to have dinner - try the Spinach and Chicken enchilada's. The best I've ever had! more

Great family place 8/14/2009

We've always had great experiences at Guadalajara, and our kids LOVE it. Our favorites: the flautas, seafood dishes, margaritas, and the free ""plata del nino"" for the little ones. And the bar is fun when we are there sans-kiddos! Our kids love to throw coins in the fountain as a treat after dinner, but lately it's been filthy and/or closed -- seems like a simple fix guys! Pros: Good service & food, great for families Cons: Need to clean the fountain! more

WONDERFUL WONDERFUL WONDERFUL 7/20/2009

This place is wonderful. I came across it on accident with my family and everyone loves it. I'm not from Houston but am living here for the summer. I am going to be buying salsa to take home with me so my entire family can enjoy it. Pros: Food more

Hold the salt, please! 5/2/2008

Went there today with friends. The service was good; however, the guacamole is obviously not made there. I found the salsa very salty and the food in general salty. I am paying for that now. Very thirsty! Pros: has a nice bar; good service Cons: too much salt and the guac is not homemade more

What happen? 10/30/2007

This place was great for drinks and food when it first opened. We used to go about every week but in the last couple of months the food has gotten awful. Everything is tasteless except for the over use of salt, the food temperature luke warm, the meat tough, and the service bad. The bar tenders, which is the reason we continued to return were great. We all know that when a person is hungry anything can taste good, well not at Guadalajara. The quality is not what it use to be. Which is unfortunate cause it was one of my favorite Mexican resturants in Houston. Pros: Bar Tenders and Ambience Cons: Food more

Nice menu with lots of choices 9/27/2006

better than average Tex-Mex but there are lots of choices. Del Mar enchiladas are great, the Guadalajara sampler is nice for two people to eat. Carne Asada Guadalajara style is wonderful and the corn bisque is great. Pros: decent food Cons: can be quite noisy more

Always been a favorite! 8/1/2006

The menu choices are both traditional and creative, so this place will satisfy a Tex-Mex crave or something a bit more exotic. It is usually crowded Thurs-Sat nights, starting at 6:00 onward. But worth the wait. I take all visitors from above the Mason-Dixon Line here for a taste of the way Mexican food was meant to be. Pros: variety, fast service, great food Cons: a bit noisy, long wait on the weekends at dinnertime more

Waste of time & money! 5/30/2006

The worst salsa/picante I've ever been served. Cold, tasteless fajita nachos and a waitstaff decidedly uninspired and rude. Have eaten here for years but never again. They've even gone to serving cheap, canned jalapenos. As I said before, never again! Cons: poor preparation, poor service, expensive more

my favorite 2/2/2005

this has been my favorite restaurant since I was 16-the only thing I have ever eaten there is the del mar-it is to die for!!! more

Excellent Service, Excellent Service, Excellent Price! Highly Recommend. FLT - Katy Pros: excellent, excellent, excellent Cons: none, none, none more

Go for the patio seating 3/14/2003

Food is good, a little more expensive than others. I like the patio seating best, because there's less noise. Inside tends to be noisy & cold (temperature wise). Good service & decor. We go when the weather is right for eating outside. Salsa - better than most. Pros: Patio atmosphere, Salsa, Parking Cons: Cold (inside), Noisy (inside) more

excellent 8/9/2002

This restaurant is wonderful. The menu is varied and the atmosphere is superb. This prices are fairly reasonable. The service is good. Any out-of-towner should try it. Pros: great food more
