AMAZING AUTHENTIC FOOD. The outside of the place may seem a little ghetto and uninviting but inside the place is small and humble. The waiters are very kind and helpful. The place is clean. I had the best quesdilla and burriti norteño more

I went there with my wife and had the hard shell tacos. They are out of this world. The meat is sooo tasty and good that you don't need to add cheese to it. This place is a must try for anyone in town. It's also a very kid friendly restaurant, and the service was excellent. I will be returning to this place. more

3.5/5 Stars The Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant was a nice little stop. I've had two entrees there: the three taco dinner and the fiesta sampler. I don't usually divide my reviews up as I have this one, but my experience with the first entree was so much different than the experience with the second I've decided to do such here. 4.5/5 Stars The three tacos were fantastic. They clearly make the crunchy shells themselves and the shredded beef tasted great. I wish they made the taco shells to order though. 3/5 Stars My fiesta platter was something of a disappointment. The quessadilla was a quessadilla - flour tortilla and cheese - not much you can do with that... The flautas (I think that's what they were) were ok, but nothing to come back for. The cheese sauce was also ok. The taco (which I was excited about) had the poorest ground beef I've had - it tasted like fast-food. And the tamale - another favorite Mexican dish of mine - was very sweet an had fairly little meat inside it. Both dishes were luke-warm at best. I'd like to see the food hotter, fresher, and... Grate your own cheese - the Kraft pre-graded stuff makes a mediocre dish out of what would otherwise be delicious. I may give this place another shot, but it's definitely not a sure thing. more

This place sucks! Ordered the taco lunch special ground beef and chicken and was served very very bland Mexican food. I didn't think that was possible. The service was pretty bad too. The only good thing they had to offer was the bottomless chips and salsa. more

This place is awesome!!! Start it off with Chips and Salsa, order the margarita and you'll prepare yourself for one authentic cuisine. Everything is good here.. the refried beans!! oh my God The Chicken Quesadillas... delicious... I love the Tortilla Soup, on top of everything when you get the bill you're going to fall off your chair at how cheap everything is!! It's the Mexican restaurant nobody knows about. Very Kid friendly fyi...doesn't bother me ... hopefully not you either.. because the food is amazing !!! more

I have dined at Guadalajara's many times for lunch with coworkers. We have all agreed that the food is delicious, authentic and plentiful. The "Burrito Norteno" platter is a venerable mouthgasm. An explosion of flavors from the perfectly seasoned charrasco steak inside the burrito to the cheese sauce the plate is drenched with prior to serving. Their refried beans are the best this side of the Mason Dixon line and the salsa is always on point.\r My only complaint with this restaurant and it is a big one is the service. The servers are not knowledgeable of the menu items and they lack customer service. They are not attentive to drinks running low and when there's a mistake on the bill good luck in making it back to the office on time, resulting in a tongue-lashing from our superiors. \r In summation; the food is superb and authentic but the service is crummy to the point that it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. more

We were in the area for a night and drove around trying to find a good mexican restaurant....well after an HOUR of driving and searching online we found Guadalajara! :) Such a WONDERFUL treat! I almost cried when I took the first bite of my enchilada! The flavor was amazing but very light weight. We devoured our food and also ordered fried ice cream. Which I am still craving more 5 days later! I did not love the margarita mix but other than that it was great! more

Best Mexican this side of the Rio Grande. Try the less-Americanized dishes, but the "classics" are great too. Don't forget the salsa verde. more

Demise of a former good pick 3/11/2008

We just ate there (a Tuesday evening) and were amazed at the down turn this place has taken. It was just flat awful, tasteless, and not worth the money. It appears that the owner (also owns Casa Tejas in Homestead) is taking money out and putting none in. The rush-seated chairs are now refitted with flat plywood, which is no fun to sit on. Even the commode isn't fit to sit on...and there's not even a manager on site to run things or talk to about the problems. There isn't a manager any time, come to find out, as a means of saving money. I ordered shredded beef and received PINK ground beef instead. My companion ordered chicken and even that was undercooked. No thanks. There were no flavors in any of the food- not even salt. Bland, bland, bland. The hot sauce tasted like tomato paste and strong Bermuda onions and little else. Nothing appeared to be made on site - from the salt-less, stale chips to the frijoles that tasted like the vegetarian version right from a can. This used to be a fairly good place, so no wonder we could now find a parking place during prime time dining. What a let down. The food really is better at Taco Bell - it's cleaner, safer, and seasoned on several levels. Pros: Easy to get a table Cons: Tasteless food, nothing to do with Mexico, not what it used to be more

Horrible ""mexican"" food 10/12/2004

I agree with the original, professional review of this restaurant. This place does nothing for Mexican food's reputation. The salsa was horrible. The tomatoes tasted canned, and there was not a hint of flavor. The guacamole (if you could actually call it that) had the texture of runny slime and the flavor of water. The rest of our platters were loaded with too much cheese that was extremely oily and never really melted properly. The rice was dried out and crunchy. We were very disappointed. Mexican food is a family fave and we left it all there. We will not return. I do not reccoment this place to anyone. This is NOT good Mexican food. Cons: , Poor Quality Food more

Best Kept Secret in SW Miami 5/23/2004

Great Food, Great Value, Great Margaritas, and an escape from the ever present chain-restaurant scene here in SW miami. Great for those who want a little something off the beaten path, without driving to Homestead. The size is small, but the decor colorful, and there are even a few tables outside for those breezy evenings. Also a great lunch date spot. Pros: Inexpensive, Casual, Original more
