The Scene
Vegetarians should stay far, far away from Grizzly's Lodge, a woodsy hangout where animal pelts and deer heads cover the walls, and the food menu is almost entirely carnivorous--and mostly wild game. A local crowd tosses back pitchers of Labatt Blue in the bar area and watches sports on one of the room's 23 TV screens.

The Draw
"We sell a lotta 'gator," said one friendly waitress on a recent visit. It's easy to see why: The bite-size chunks of Cajun-style, blackened alligator are slightly chewy but perfectly seasoned, and wield a healthy kick. If you don't mind the slightly gamey flavor, the ostrich burger is a healthy way to satisfy a craving--especially since the meat is particularly low in fat and cholesterol. For a more traditional taste, try the popular chicken potpie, served piping hot in a small crock.
