Gringo's is THE best 10/26/2011

Went with my family to Gringo's last week/10/20/2011 and had the best Tortilla Soup I've ever eaten. Called in for take out on 10/22 for family and had a smorgasbord of great Mexican food. While I live in Ohio I come to Friendswood frequently to visit my family and will be back to Gringo's for great food and great service. Thank you more

AVERAGE 12/1/2010

Gringos is convenient since there arent too many places on this side of town. \r \r The food is good but not great. I think it's just average. Service is hit and miss. more

Never Coming Back 6/25/2009

Me and my fiance came into to eat (we ate at Gringos frequently) ordered our food, ate it, got our check and left. We made it a little way down the road when he realized he forgot his cell phone on the table. He calls it using mine and it rings a few times. The 3rd time it goes straight to voice mail (someone turned it off). We get there, go inside, and we are immediately approached by a waiter (not our own waiter but one that had walked by our table a few times) and he asked ""whats up?"" when nothing was mentioned to him or anyone else yet about coming back for our phone. It all seemed a bit suspicious. Needless to say my fiance never got his phone back and I never received a call on mine in reguards to it. The manager did not seem to care and didn't offer anything to make the situation better for us. We go to other Gringos but we totally boycott this particular location. If you go please keep your valuables within sight. Pros: consistent good food Cons: theivery/service more

Good Tex-Mex food for a chain restaurant 4/26/2008

If you go to other chain restaurants for Tex-Mex, I would say that this is the best out of all of them. The fajitas meat is juicy and lean - no fat and very tasty and moist. Their Silver Star margarita is excellent - they don't skimp on the tequila here! The chips are not greasy (tastes almost like bake) but it's very nice. We love to go to this place when we have cravings for Tex-Mex. Pros: Good food, drinks, and service Cons: Long waits but it's expected more

Best Tex-Mex around!! 7/5/2007

Excellent food! My very favorite is the Pollo Marisco, no other TexMex can compare. The ""Cobb"" salad would be my next favorite. I have never had bad service at the one in Pearland or any of the other's. There is sometimes a waiting list, but I won't wait more than 30 min. anywhere and I never had to wait more than that at Gringo's. Pros: Great Food! Cons: Atmosphere a little cheesy! more

Great Green Sauce 2/9/2007

I love the GREEN SAUCE, the chips, and the fajitas!!!! The only thing that I didn't like about the one in Pearland is they close too early Pros: good green sauce Cons: Pearland location closes too early more

Fantastic green sauce, Terrible service 12/31/2006

Pearland location: Food is fantastic. The bar is commonly the fastest way to eat. Either way the service is terrible. The bartenders ignore you and the waitstaff likes to disappear for long periods at a time. I can't tell you the number of times I've had my food comped. Pros: green sauce, guacamole, drinks Cons: service, service, service more

Great! 3/4/2006

Since my first visit to this Pearland institition in 1993, I have found the food to be very consistent, affordable, and overall just plain good. The new building decor is outstanding. My favorite is the Toro room with the authenic bullheads. My favorite dish is the Pollo Marisco - rather than me describing it, just try it! Go early or go late becaus ethe place is always busy - very busy! Pros: Quality, Value, Ambience Cons: Crowded, Crowded, Crowded more

The Best 6/9/2005

This is the BEST Mexican Food Restaurant in Houston. The Fajitas are expecially good. Pros: Free Icecream, Fajitas more

Stafford Gringos is the best!! 9/29/2004

We love the Stafford Gringo's!! We've tried the Gringo's in San Antonio and while the food is good the service is stinks. My wife is big on Piña Coladas and for some reason she loves the one from Gringo's, but its got to be ""Rigo's"". We order one when he was out and wasn't the same. He's the friendliest bartender, and he can really turn up a Piña Colada, I don't know what it is about his, but they are out of this world. Keep on smilin' Rigo! We love ya, Stafford!! Pros: RIGO's Piña Coladas, Fajitas, Rigo's Piña Coladas more

GRINGO'S in Pearland 9/22/2004

You know, I really like their food, but I do not like the noise level. It was bad in their old building and worse in the new one, but even still I love the food. I will often fight the crowds (and I do mean CROWDS) there to eat my favorite dishes, but sometimes the noise level makes my head hurt, ha! Pros: Good Food, Good Drinks, Decent Service Cons: , TOO NOISY more

!!Yummy!! 5/22/2004

I enjoy the weekend, because once a weekend my husband and I enjoy the great atmosphere and the wonderful food of Gringos Pearland. My favorite dinner plate is the Zapata, it is yummy everytime I have ordered it! The wait is usually lenghty, but well worth it.. I can't wait until June 1st, because the bigger/new Gringos will be open!! Keep up the good work Gringos!! Pros: FOOD, ICE CREAM more

Not bad 3/14/2003

We've gone for Sunday lunch with friends & split fajita platters, which are pretty good. Salsa is glorified ketchup. Free ice cream. Service is good, parking fine. Usually crowded. Great for groups & kids. Easy going atmosphere. Pros: Easy going, Free ice cream Cons: Salsa, Crowded more

Excellent queso, consistent high-quality mexican food. Beef fajitas great, chicken so-so. Wonderful margaritas. Out of towners are taken here. Often a long wait at ANY Gringo's, but well worth it! Pros: great, consisten food, queso wonderful, excellent prices Cons: long waits unless, you go at off-peak, times more

Gringo's, no matter what location is a packed house. Great for business, of course. However, with any crowded venue, service can be poor; servers too busy running around tending to so many customers, it affects their attitudes, food orders, etc. I have been attending Pearland location since the Grand Opening. Early days prices were cheap and food proportions were plenty, service extremely friendly and attentive. Pearland location has grown/expanded multiple times over. They can no longer accomodate parking-always full during lunch, dinner, weekend rush hours. Prices went up, food proportions decreased, quality of food is effected. Servers are rushed, not as friendly, our orders are always served incorrectly, sometimes even after the 2nd attempt. After at least 30 minute wait to be seated, food has been delivered cold, stale, wilted, not fully cooked. After order is placed, servers become less attentive. Pros: Good Food, Enjoyable Atmosphere, Family Oriented Cons: Long Waiting Lines, Always Crowded, Poor Service more

Best Ever!! 7/18/2002

Best Mexican food!! My sister and I try out new restaurants once a week and have yet to find a place that serves better Mexican food than Gringos. It is definitely worth the drive from the Med. Center to Pearland!! This is the kind of Mexican food I want my friends and relatives from out of state to have. more
