Best

After spending about a month shopping for a road bike, I purchased from Greg's in Bellevue. I read some negative reviews online about their customer service, but I decided to give...

Worst

I've never had an easy transaction with Gregg's. It's not as if they are an understaffed store with discount pricing, quite the opposite. Service quality is good but they won't ...

Horrible Service, Same Ol' Inventory! 9/13/2007

If Gregg's Cycles put as much effort into service as they do advertising, they would have a valid share of Seattle's cycling community. I have had several bad experiences with their staff, while the management appears to be totally disconnected from the reality on the sales floor. You will do much better dealing with your local, independent bike shop. more

Gregg's Bellevue Cycles for all your biking needs 5/22/2006

So, a few years back, my wife and I each bought a bike from Gregg's. Having never had a really good bike before, I was really excited to finally be getting one. It's been long enough now, that I don't recall all the details, other than when we left, I had a great bike (Trek 700 something hybrid) that would last me until I "graduated" to the next level of biking, and my wife had a great starter bike. The reason I'm writing this review is the experience we had last Friday night, going in for their free "Beginning Bike maintenance" class. This was a remarkable experience. One of their employees stayed almost two hours past the closing of the store to give me and my wife, and about 4 other gentlemen, an intro into bike maintenance. There were a few things covered that I knew well, such as how to change a tire. But even on topics like that, I learned a lot of new details, and left the class feeling like I could keep my bike in good working order with a minimum of effort. This was really important because I recently started biking to work, having that nice combination of distance between house and work and terrain, and insane gas prices making me look at alternatives. All in all, both for service, the lack of the "hard sell", and the education they freely give their customers, I would say give Gregg's, whether in Bellevue, or in Greenlake, a chance to get your two wheeling under your own power. more

Expensive, but the advice is terrific 1/27/2006

As a noob bike geek, this is the place to go. They really do have just about everything and they understand the high-end. I love hanging out at the repair area where folks really know what is going on, but the rest of the store is just great to drool over. They have another store over in Greenlake where they started, but somehow the folks at the Bellevue store are harder core. I was once in an accident and Randy, the genius mechanic, rebuild the entire bike to great condition. If you are new to bikes, they are just great to lead through the process and find something that works for you. They aren't a discount outlet like Performance, but you get quality and good advice. With biking, that is probably the most important things. more

Professional service and wide selection 8/20/2005

If you want a decent bicycle that doesn't way more than you do, you want to head to Gregg's Cycle--with two locations, one in Greenlake and one in Bellevue, you have a good cross-section of bicycles to choose from. Gregg's staff is happy to consult with you on what kind of bike might be best for your needs, and encourage you to give your possible purchase a spin or two around the parking lot. Mid to late summer is a great time to catch the sales at Gregg's, where you can get a bike for almost half the initial price. Gregg's also offers more complex repairs, packaging to ship your bike, and a class on bikes to help you feel comfortable with basic repairs and maintenance. more

Very nice! Lots of bikes! 8/18/2005

I bought my Trek 7200 from Gregg's cycle. The sales person was very informative, he knew his stuff, and they even let you take the bike for a test ride in their parking lot for as long as you like! they had no qualms that i wanted to try out 3 or 4 different bikes and even that i kept switching back and forth to test them out! They have a lot of pro gear as well as lower end gear, and energy bars, helmets, car bike racks, water bottles, and all the other usual stuff you'd expect to find in a bike shop. They even went out of their way to have my bike built for me that evening even tho they didn't expect to have any open slots to work on it! Thats customer service! thanks Gregg's! more

Gregg's cycle is an excellent Bicycle shop even for beginners! 8/12/2005

Gregg's seems to carry cycles for all types of people, enough to curtail to the hardcore riders, but even lower end cheaper bikes for beginners.. They also let you test ride each bike.. In addition to that, they give you a 6 month period to bring your bike in for a free check up (tires, chain oil, and tension ect..) they even were able to accommodate me since i don't ride during the winter i asked if i could bring it in next summer for my free checkup, and they said that should be fine. they spent probably 2 or 3 hours helping me while i couldn't make my mind up, helping giving me advice, telling me how I would probably feel in a few months after riding and giving me very good advice! I recommend Gregg's cycle as a first stop if your looking for a good quality bike.. Stay away from the stores who don't specialize in bikes! more

Helpful local biking shop. Large inventory. 8/9/2005

Gregg's Bellevue Cycle was the first place I decided to check out when I was considering buying a new bike. I went in, a complete novice about biking, and came out feeling good because I knew more about the bike I wanted to buy. When I visited the place, it was crowded, as usual and it took a while for a sales representative to answer my questions. They explained the differences in different types of Hybrid Trek bikes fairly well and I decided to check out other places to compare prices. I actually ended up buying my bike at Bicycles West in Crossroads, but I came back to Gregg's to buy a waterbottle and some waterbottle cages. As always, the sales reps were really helpful. more

The best 7/12/2005

For bicycles and equipment, Gregg's is the top of the line in Seattle area. They can be quite busy at times especially in the summer and this makes it a bit of a wait to get the attention of the sales staff. They have a wide selection of bikes from affordable to top of the line. The accessories are somewhat sparse but good supply of helmets. Parking is a bit crazy at times. more
