Nice but pricey !!! 6/1/2010

They do have beautiful plants and a nice gift shop. I especially like their Christmas store at Christmas time. Their prices are high and the owner is not friendly at all. Sometimes he appears to be very rude. When you are in retail it would seem to me that you would treat every customer that walks through the door like they are going to spend a million dollars. You can never tell who is going to spend how much when they walk in the door. I have been shopping there for years and at times have spent a substantial amount and he still comes across as very rude. Because of this I don't shop there as much as I used to. more

Looks can be deceiving 10/1/2008

When you walk into Greenhurst you'll be greeted with the most beautiful plants, gifts and home decor you'll find any where. Unfortunately, the prices are so high you'd have to sign over your first born child to make a purchase and the service is less than helpful. You'll probably run into the owner who can be downright rude on occasion. Plant prices are much higher than at any other local nursery. Everything is very pretty. Go to Greenhurst for ideas and then buy what you want somewhere else. more

Great place to shop and spend time 10/21/2007

Almost as good as any Botanic Garden. Very helpful. Never a problem! Sometimes a bit pricey, but worth it for that special item. more

Buyer Beware! 11/18/2006

Don't rely on their "professionals" to actually know what they are talking about. I visited them looking for a specific type of TREE, but was not sure of the name, etc. The sales person showed me a variety and, after I asked very specific questions, the sales person insured me that these were what I was looking for. He explained that they were just young plants, but would branch out as they grew. I now find out they sold me $70 worth of ARBORVITUS and am stuck with plants that I have no place for. Sure, they grow tall, but that doesn't make them a TREE! (By the way, Greenhurst, you might want to check your dictionary if you're unclear on the difference between the two...) I called them after bringing them home and they still insist that the "Thuja Plicata Virescens" is a tree and had the attitude that the error was my fault, etc, etc, etc, even though I made the purchase based on information their "professional" provided. In my opinion it seems like their goal is making a sale, any sale! Period!! So, shop away if you don't care what you actually end up with. But, if you have specific landscaping ideas in mind, I'd shop elsewhere. more

Beautiful Nursery 4/8/2006

Greenhurst Nursery is a great place to go. They are more than willing to help you figure out what kinds of plants or bushes would work well in your yard. And, their store has amazing gift ideas or other things for your house and yard. Everything is always very neat and clean. This is a great place to find a unique gift for someone as well. more

A great place to get the plants you need 10/6/2005

They have a huge selection of plants and tools for all your gardening needs. I have found the staff extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely shop with them again. I've purchased trees there as well as a lot of plants and shrubs. When I've had problems, they easily rectified the situation. Now is the time to buy a lot of stuff as they will probably be starting their winter closeout sale. more

Impeccable Nursery 8/18/2005

Greenhurst Nursery is a family-owned business with a die-hard local following. They offer top-quality trees and shrubs in a well-cared for setting, as well as a wide variety of high-quality tools, amendments, and even some trendy home and garden items. We go there only a few times every few months, and the staff already knows us by name. Their advice is worth much more than you'll spend. The store setting is really something you have to walk through, especially during holidays and peak garden season. I take the kids there sometimes just to walk through the plants and relax. The annual fall sale is a ritual for us; don't miss it. more
