The Great Plains Nature Center is a museum located in the Great Plains park in east Wichita. I was somewhat surprised that none of my friends actually knew about this place... but it is great! I would recommend it anyone -- including families. The museum is fascinating, but the park is even better. There are tons of different species of animals -- rare birds... all in a wildlife refuge with trails throughout. It is really something that every wichitan should visit.
I wouldn't recommend the park for running -- just for a relaxing afternoon.
