Have Used Them For Years 12/24/2008

Many reviews trash Yellow Cab. I've lived in the Seattle area for years and have consistently found them to be a wonderful service. They have never been late, never charged me an unfair rate, and have always been polite and professional. They are now the only service that I use. more

CAB NEVER SHOWED, TERRIBLE SERVICE, TERRIBLE ATTITUDE 11/5/2008

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!! These people took my reservation two hours ahead of the pick-up time, the cab NEVER showed up, then when I called to check on it they told me they were to busy to check, didn't care that the taxi hadn't shown up and refused to let me speak to a manager. Unprofessional and amateurish response from a complete jack-off named Nate, who should be fired immediately. Cons: Service, timeliness, customer relations, attitude more

Yellow Cab Seattle - OBOMINABLE!!! NEVER USE IT!!!! 6/21/2008

I have used cab services all over the world and have never ever come across a more unreliable and unprofessional service before!!! It baffles me that they still don't get it and aren't doing anything about their services and ridership going down the tube!!!!!! Cons: Very unreliable, rude and arrogant workers althroughout, unprofessional, and coslier than other cab services in town!!! more

AVOID AVOID AVOID 6/10/2008

Every review you read on here is 100% accurate. I was trying to schedule a taxi to pick me up for the airport tomorrow morning. The dispatcher couldn't spell my first name so he decided to not type it into the system. His answer was, ""Your name is too hard for me"". (My first name is Win). I asked if they wanted my phone number. His reply was ""No, we're not going to call you anyway. You have to call us in the morning to make sure we are there"". Talk about service. Horrible! I could care less if they show up or not. I'm going with a more reliable town car service. It's worth the extra $10.00 to get to the airport on time. more

Dispatchers could use prozac, chocolate and midol 6/5/2008

Most of the drivers I've gotten from yellow cab have been just fine. I don't know where they find the dispatchers though. They all seem to be doing a bad Danny DeVito impersonation. Belligerant and argumentative, surly the very moment you dare to ask a question. Anything more than ""pick me up now, at this address"" and you are begging for trouble. On one of the early reviews, I read the dispatcher took exception with her using the term ""You guys."" Perhaps it created such an impression, he then incorporated it into his speech style. It's what the dispatcher said repeatedly; ""Don't ask me to speculate how long the drive will take, YOU GUYS just need to decide for yourselves and tell us when to be there."" I told him I was not asking him to predict the traffic, I was asking him how much padding I should allow on his drivers being on time. The distinction was too much for him to follow. He was broken record on the ""YOU GUYS tell us yada yada yada."" Sad sad man, taking advantage of the only power he is likely to see in this lifetime. Being nasty to anyone he can, just for the sheer joy of it. Pros: There's lots of them. The drivers are often polite, and know where they are going. Cons: Dispatchers who get their jollies being jerks more

Worst dispatch service - extremely rude - insensitve 4/8/2008

I called a yellow cab at around 11:00 PM - I told them that I wanted to be picked up on the cross streets by the Blockbuster. They refused to pick me up because I did not have an exact address. i was calling from my cell phone so I could not get the exact address. I wanted to be picked up close to the bus stop and taken home - I have a severe safety situation - I am being stalked and have a protection order out. I complained to the dispatcher about it - and he was extremely argumentitive and insensitive - he asked ""so what do you want me to do about it?"" - ""We are not responsible for your safety"" - etc. I told them in the discussion that they would be negligent if anything happened. . He said that I could not be held responsible that I would have to go after the guy who attacked me. I am afraid to enter my building. He kept engaging me and took issue with me saying ""you guys"". Now I hardly ever argue with customer service people - most of them really like me and I have made some friends with managers and baristas at coffee shops. I could not understand why they would be so inflexible and rude - I will never use that taxi service again for any reason. Pros: often on time Cons: Rudeness of dispatchers - inflexibility on exact addresses - will not let me identify business more

WORST CONDITION CABS WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!!! 4/7/2008

I was in Seattle on business and decided to take a couple of extra days and sight see with my husband. When it came time to leave, we grabbed the first cab we saw, Yellow Cab. It was run down and we almost turned it away but we had a flight to catch so we went for it. The cab driver didn't seem to know where we were going, either. Then, the cab driver started fiddling with the gearshift, threw the car in reverse and caused us to have a SERIOUS car accident. He lost control of the car and crashed into the median. Thankfully after a rushing the doctor to get out of the ER we were sent home (barely making our flight, THANK YOU HIGHLINE MED CENTER). Aside from the negligent driving of the cab, it was a worn down vehicle and the driver seemed as if he didnt know where he was going or anything. We got out of yellow cab with our lives and we're thankful. We had to take another cab to the airport from the hospital and the nurse gave us Island Cab. We got into a decent cab and the driver was more confident. (not that I was in any shape to appreciate it). NEVER EVER AGAIN will I go in a yellow cab in any city or state!!!! If I could give negative stars then I would. Cons: everything more

Worst cab company in Seattle! 1/16/2008

I took Yellow Cab to the emergency room at Swedish Hospital and the driver ate his lunch and played a crackly football game on the radio, I was injured and needed help getting in and out of the cab which was not offered and I left my hat on the back seat because he pulled off so fast I did not have time to get it out of the car and my hat never got turned in to the lost and found! When I called to complain the person I spoke to was so rude that from now on I will just take the bus! Pros: pick me up fast! Cons: took the longest route there! more

No Show... and Rude When I Called to Ask For Status! 1/11/2008

I had such an awful experience with Yellow Cab last night that I had to post here. I called around 1 AM and asked for a taxi to come pick me up in Greenlake. 7 minutes, I was told, so I dutifully went outside to wait. After waiting over twenty five minutes in the cold and creepy dark, I called to make sure there was no confusion about the address or something. The man I talked to was needlessly rude. Actually, rude is an understatement--the guy was bullying and belligerent. Among all the things he barked at me, the only one of any relevance was that the 7 minute estimate didn't mean anything, they stopped guaranteeing cab times over a year ago so I should just keep standing there for as long as it took and not call them. I stupidly waited another twenty minutes. Then I called infomation from my cell and asked for ""any cab company that wasn't Yellow Cab."" The operator connected me to Orange Cab, whose dispatcher said they'd be there in ten to twenty minutes. Ten minutes later, I was warm and dry in an Orange Cab, on my way home! Yellow Cab, thanks for nothing. Methinks competition will be good for you. Pros: working phone number Cons: belligerent dispatcher, no show driver more

No big complaints 1/8/2008

Im a young adult and never had taken a taxi (by myself) before this experience but the driver was not only on time but early. He was friendly which was surprising since the person on the phone was very rude. It was overall a great trip. It was cheaper than I expected too, even though, being my first time I forgot to tip (which i felt bad about afterwards) but the driver did no complaining. He also helped me load and unload my suitcases. Pros: helping with suitcases, on time, friendly driver Cons: lady on phone was pushy and impolite more

No Show on Pre-Arranged Pick Up 10/16/2007

Well, I'll add to a long list of people with customer complaints about Yellow Cab. I'm still looking for the competition to take my business there. Last week I called the night before to schedule an airport trip. Scheduled for 6:30 am, I began calling when the cab didn't arrive right on time. I called at 6:34, 6:45; 6:51 and 7:02. At each call the cab was 'on my street', 'just a minute away', heading north on my street', etc etc. at the third call I told the dispatcher I could see the cab 2 blocks down my street, going the wrong direction. I offered to 'direct' him in. No, 'he's on his way'. At the fourth call they said they'd be there in 15 minutes. Well, as the story went, I hopped in my car, parked at the airport, missed my flight anyway and had to pay for a week's parking at the airport garage. AT 7:21 I got an 'autodial' call from Yellow cab that my cab was 'out front'. Well, I was already in the parking garage at that time. Now I'm trying to pursue collection of my out of pocket expenses. We'll see how their customer service goes with that. Good luck. And, where's the competition. I think these guys know they're a monopoly. more

yellow cab is the most horrible cab company in seattle 7/27/2007

a friend of mine called. he was told half an hour. it was longer so we called in. he was then told because he did not call every 15 minutes his cab would not come. I then asked to talk to the person on the phone who i explained that when we expect a cab in a half hour we look for it we don't expect to have to call every 15 minutes. she then hung up the phone on me. i proceeded to call management who said sorry too many times in a row to be actually listening to my complaint and then said they would fire whoever it was if they figured handled my call and then hung up on me.\r \r I would love to actually talk to someone who owns the company. They are horrible and do no take their customers at all.\r Pros: didnt even get to see if the drivers would be good. Cons: dispatchers were so horrible we ended up cancelling our ride and riding with orange cab more

Dispatch needs to do their job correctly; drivers need to go to anger management class 7/4/2007

I called a cab from my cell phone, and after telling dispatch where I was at they sent the cab to the LAST address I had called them from to come pick me up at. Found out that you need to tell dispatch it is a cell phone so they get the right address. After getting two phone calls to say my cab was there, I finally got them to tell me where they were sending it to. After waiting over 30 minutes we had a our cab!! But what a ride it was. After telling the driver he was going the wrong direction, and that we weren't going to pay for him to pad the fare, he became irate and started yelling at us, telling us we shouldn't be taking cab-we should be riding the bus for 25 cents(I'm not that old) and kept threatening to kick us out of his cab. After I got almost histerical he finally took us home. He drove too fast-and by the time I got home I was shaking. The driver could not shut up when confronted-seems to me that they would want repeat business, not to chase fares off. Called and complained to both Yellow Cab and the complaint hotline that is available. Was told by Yellow that they would prefer the complaint hotline was not called (Gee, I wonder why) Day later got a call from someone saying that they were from Yellow Cab and that we were ""blackballed"" from using their services in the future. As if I ever will. There are too many other cab companies out there to put up with that type of service. more

worst customer service 5/31/2007

they don't inform on time if the cab not available. they don't have any responsibility on customer. worst service. missed my appointment. second exp with them forced me to write review. more

Choose another service 4/8/2007

As someone else noted, the dispatchers for Yellow Cab are extremely nasty and bark at you like a drill sargeant. Last time I called, they demanded an exact address rather than a street corner - why is this necessary? A decent cabbie should be able to find a street corner. I used to keep Yellow programmed in my cell phone, but switched to another service because of the annoyance of having to deal with the dispatchers. Cons: rudeness all around more

Intimidating/Aggressive/Dangerous?! Taxi Driver 9/3/2006

I hailed a taxi on 2nd Ave. near the Space Needle to go to the Starbucks on Olive & Denny way. I got in and the man was having a heated discussion on his cell. He starts yelling in another language and finally hangs up, huffs and puffs while I sit silent, but questioning why he's heading all the way down to PIKE STREET when he could have just taken Denny straight up the hill. Then, I realized why...as we sat RED LIGHT AFTER RED LIGHT with the meter ticking away. Finally, at the Convention Center I asked why we didn't go up Denny...he then starts yelling at ME saying, ""See, all you guys ALWAYS do this to me...start arguing everything."" At that point I say with some sarcasm--I wasn't arguing, just asking and SUGGESTING it. He then goes on to rant and ramble a bunch of BS about how it was MY FAULT for not telling him--to which I responded that HE WAS DRIVING AND SHOUTING ON HIS CELL PHONE--then saying that he didn't KNOW about that route--just after he told me he'd been driving cab for 12 yrs in Seattle--and then, that PEOPLE LIKE GOING THIS WAY. Well, when we stopped the fare was $8.30 to go 3/4 mile!! He turned around with a threatening look, demeanor then chillingly calm and demanded full fare. I reluctanly gave--only b/c I feared what he might do--and then he wasn't going to give me change!! I told him I would wait til he found it then at which point he pulls out 1.75 and threw it back at me. I left and WILL NEVER EVER use YELLOW CAB CO. AGAIN! Car #490 for those who care...beware! more

RUDE! 5/19/2006

I've used Yellow Cab several times but have not had good experiences. The drivers are ok except for one who drove extremely fast and chain smoked the entire time. My main problem with this company is that the dispatchers are just about the rudest people you can talk to. They yell at you on the phone and get extremely irritated if you don't respond quickly enough for them. I even had one hang up on me after yelling that I should have been prepared with an exact address before calling. He didn't give me time to say that I just wanted to know the price of an average trip between downtown Seattle & downtown Bellevue. With that kind of service, I'd rather call a smaller company. more

DUMPED 4/12/2006

Don't think you will get a Yellow Cab to pick you up if the location you are at is within a few miles of the airport. We parked our car at a friend's house in the city of Seatac, phoned Yellow Cab to pick us up and proceeded to wait for 20 minutes before we gave them another call. After numerous calls we finally received a recorded call on our cell phone. Stating the taxi was outside ready to pick us up. This WASN""T true. When we called them back the dispatcher just apologize and asked if we wanted them to send another taxi! INCREDIBLE! Fortunately we decided to phone Orange Cab. When we told the driver of our harrowing experience he said they call this type of action DUMP FARES and drivers do this when they know the fare is not going to be a big money maker! OUTRAGEOUS! more
