Not Impressed! 8/16/2011

I'm not sure what Dr. Gray is like as I never got the opportunity to actually see her! The phone staff were rude and unprofessional. My appointments were cancelled on numerous occasions. I saw a nurse who put me on meds which did not agree with me and I couldn't get back in to see anyone for weeks which left me miserable! Needless to say I have a new wonderful doctor who I was able to actually see. more

Can not trust this office 9/9/2010

Very bad office, office manager Christine, never return call even as an office manager she gave me her word to call me back within 1 hour and you could not ever reach the main person Dr Janette Gray, no contact email address for her.... must be hiding.... That is the way they rub their office. DO NOT recommend this place to anyone. Front desk will give you one price when you make an appoitment , when you go to your appoitment ... surprise ... extra $195.00 I am calling BBB. They should be closed down! 2nd issue Schedule of events wrong, I went to on Wed for a free foot clinic and they said, no it is just on Tue and THU. take your money somewhere else more

DID ANYONE NOTICE THE PICTURE OF DR. GRAY ON THE WALL? 5/1/2010

AS YOU GO BACK WITH THE NURSE, ON YOUR RIGHT IS A CHECKERBOARD PICTURE WHERE DR. GRAY PASTED HER PICTURE ONTO THE FRAMED 'WOMEN OF THE YEAR (YR 2005?) Cons: EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE, PAST AND PRESENT more

unhappy 1/6/2010

at first i thought i caught the office staff on a bad day, but then it happened again and they kept telling me i would get a call later that day or tomorrow, but they never did and when i called to check in they said i would get a call later that day or tomorrow. still nothing so when i followed up yet again they said it was taken care of, but never called me so i had no idea. i was also less then impressed with the knowledge of the doctors on staff! Cons: everything more

The best wholistic clinic in San Diego! 5/18/2009

I understand the concerns about the delayed call backs, I have experienced them myself.... HOWEVER, this clinic is so EXCEPTIONAL in every other way than any clinic I have ever been too! I moved to San Francisco for a period of time and still traveled to San Diego for my check-ups. There's a reason for the loyality... Firstly, it is SO RARE to find a holistic clinic that accepts health insurance. My experience is that holistic clinics from the bay area to Santa Monica charge hundreds of dollars for every visit and they don't take insurance. That's holistic medicine for the wealthy. Not at Dr. Grays clinic.... it's holistic for everyone who walks in and they handle the insurance billing. Yea! Quite honestly, I would much rather have them take insurance then call me back in a timely way. I see them implementing new systems sometimes--its a work in progress. Sometimes its good, sometimes its very slow. But just call a lot, or get in your car if your local and go down there! That's what I do. Secondly, the atmosphere in the Hillcrest office is fantastic. Its the nicest and most trendy medical facility that I have ever been in. They must have had some San Diego designer do the interior--very, very nice and makes you excited to come back. That might be stretching it, but its been a very pleasant experience to feel the Zen tranquility awaiting my appointment. By the way, I have never waited longer than five minutes for my appointment. They are very prompt once you are at the clinic. Thirdly, the doctors and nurses are the nicest, most friendly medical practitioners I have ever met. I grew up hanging out at my dad's huge medical clinic, and it was nothing like this. These woman, besides being hip and beautiful, are very knowledgable, personable and extremely competent. I might sound like an advertisement for this place, but I was shocked to read the other reviews. These people are looking for conventional doctor's offices who process their needs efficiently, but evidently have no appreciation for the rarity of a holistic clinic that takes insurance with amazingly wonderful practitioners. I just hope my review doesn't make it harder to get an appointment. I know they were full around the time I became a new patient in 2006. I slipped in as a referral from one of the massage therapists, but it was not easy. Don't know the situation now. Lastly, every single practitioner I have seen there was soooo good. They are the best! They have zero-ed in on the causes of certain long term health conditions and done so with such competence and elegance. Really, have you ever heard of a health practitioner described as ""elegant"", well they are! Very refreshing! They obviously practice what they preach and are healthy inside and out. And the counter staff is very nice now....I do remember the past ones being a little dull and routine like . The phone system is still a bit slow, but perserverance and patience are a virtue. Maybe thats why they call us patents. Pros: Holistic , Takes Insurance, Very Competent Cons: Slow on call backs sometimes... more

Better than MOST!!! 3/10/2009

As a former enlisted military & current military spouse, I am new to the San Diego area and have had it with the military doctors! I was invited to a ""Spa Day"" at this place and decided to accept the invitation. I was very impressed at the young, fresh-minded organization that I witnessed that day.I thought to myself, ""This can't be a dr's office."" Afterall what dr's office offers a spa day? That's what I asked Dr. Janette Gray directly. She then explained her idea of integrative medicine and introduced me to just about every person there (she knew everybody's name) from her office manager to other patients that were participating in the spa day! WOW! I made up my mind, i was hooked! Now I still did my research on her & CHWB and found this website. I was shocked at the lame ratings! I decided to call and figure it out for myself. I admit having a hard time trying to get thru on thier phones. I went online to request an appointment and was responded to the same day and was able to get an appointment within 8 weeks and was advised if I urgently needed anything sooner they would be able to get me in for a ""quick"" appointment if needed. I asked about the phone system and they advised me that they had chosen a company that provided bad service. Plain and simple. I think that people need to be more understanding. If as a new patient I can overlook this MINOR imperfection, existing patients should quit being babies and be patient patients! Pros: knowledgable staff & more than adequate facilities Cons: witnessing overly dramatic patients while waiting in the lobby! Uggh! more

The Best of the Best 3/8/2009

I have been seeing Dr. Grey for many years now. I love going to her office, not to mention the fact I comute Pros: Wonderful, caring doctor. Cons: None in my book. more

worst doc office ever 2/19/2009

so i'm generally pretty easy going, but when i leave THREE voice mails over a nine day period and the pharmacy faxes the request TWICE and nothing happens i get upset. the office never picks up the phone and you have to continually leave message, when i finally got a real person she said they have been having phone problems since october...i'm sorry, how long? your a doctors office and no one can reach you via phone or fax and apparently that also means you can't access your voice mail because they never called me back. i told them they could cancel the appointment and i will be requesting my very small medical chart from the couple of times i went there and taking my insurance elsewhere. if you are having issues with your phone lines i suggest you change your voice mail to state that so people are aware of the problem. and again, how is it possible to have phone issues for FOUR months! i have been a receptionist at a doctors office and that would never happen, ever. Pros: nothing Cons: poor office management more

Love this place! 11/7/2008

I have never been so well treated at a doctors office! I'm a military wife and usually have to drag my kids around when I go to my doctors appointments. While being seen by Dr. Gray, the nurses took my very active 2 year old to play with them. Everytime I go in everyone working in the office greets my children. I had concerns about depression when I went to Dr. Gray, rather then just put me on an antidepresant, she had me take an at home test that revealed my hormone levels. From that, she was able to prescribe the right medication. I hate medication and would prefer a natural remedy to most medications. Because of this Dr. Gray set up an appointment with the naturalistic doctor in the office. I have nothing, but, good things to say about this practice. I refer them every chance I get. Check them out. I know you'll be more then satisfied! Pros: caring staff Cons: distance from our house more

Go elsewhere for healthcare 6/26/2008

I have been a patient of Dr. Gray's since before she opened her practice at CHWB. I have been sick enough to require a doctor's appointment exactly TWICE in all of these years. On both of those occasions, I was told they were too busy to see me. The front office is just about the rudest bunch I've ever encountered. I've had enough. Go elsewhere! Cons: Can't get in to see a doctor if you're sick because they are ""too busy"" more

RUDE RUDE RUDE!!! 5/4/2008

The office staff is EXTREMELY rude! The DO NOT care about the patients at all! GO ELSEWHERE! a doctors office should be welcoming, they treat their patients like we are intruding on their time. I finally switched doctors (long overdue) after being stressed each time I went. Pros: none! Cons: long waits, VERY RUDE! more

Shocked 4/9/2008

After 14 years as a patient, and enjoying having Dr. Gray as my primary physician, I was sent a letter which basically said ""The Center for Health & Well Being believes in providing the best quality care for our patients and it's for this reason we are releasing you as a patient from our office"". Huh? I was shocked and disappointed. What does this mean? I couldn't get Dr. Gray to ever respond to my inquiry. I don't have enough space to write in everything. Pros: The integrative medicine aspect combining Eastern & Western medicine Cons: Office staff and I released as a patient without explanation more

The Real Deal 2/11/2008

O wow! Who goes somewhere and waits until they are ""lost"" to call for directions? What? ! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place...especially the massage therapy pro's. Always a friendly helpful enviornment! Hi guys! Hope u are reading this! Take Care-MO more

Steaming Mad!!!!!!! 1/24/2008

I had an appointment today at 1240. I arrived at about 1235 and I had never been there before and didn't know where to go. (It's a large complex) So I called the office and got the answering machine that stated that they were closed from 1230-130. How can this be? I have an appt at 1240. I thought maybe I got the time wrong so I called back at 130. The receptionist told me that I was correct.....my appt was at 1230. I asked how come they didn't answer there phone. She replied that they don't answer thier phones during lunch. I told her that if they don't answer their phones how can someone get directions? She said that she could schedule me for another appt and not charge me the no show fee. I responded that I would not be needing to reschedule and that I would go elsewhere. It's just weird that they can schedule appt's during their ""lunch hour"" and then not answer the phones when people are calling for directions. Needless to say....they don't care about thier patients. more
