Grand Rios Indoor Waterpark Hotel

HORRIBLE!!! AWFUL!!!! They shouldnt request a rating for this at all. They offer the kind of services that SHOULD NOT be out there! I would be ashamed to work for that hotel. I spoke to the front desk clerk to try to book 10/15rooms for a group. I was transfered to Katie, I left a message and NEVER got a call back. I called again and was transfered to Laural who said was going to "email" me the special rates for group but NEVER DID until I, for a 3rd time, called back and complained. I asked for a manager several times but they were NEVER around! I would love to speak to the OWNER to do part of the AWFUL services they're providing. VERY DISAPPOINTING! more

30 plus minutes to check in. Lady was completely clueless on the computer. Lost our reservation and miraculously found it 20 minutes later. Water park itself was fine for the kids. However, the locker room you have to go through to get to the pool was disgusting. Probably no less than 100 towels all over the floor. Just a dump. The hotel restaurant promised us pizza in 25 minutes. After 1 hour and 10 minutes, we called to cancel the order. The guy on the phone was upset with me for not being more accomodating. Hotel bar closed at 11pm--on a Saturday! They dumped our drinks in plastic cups and shooed us out the door. Lastly, lots of hotel patrons partying in the alls to all hours. Surprised that the hotel management didn't have a problem with parties in the hall way. Besides keeping us up, I am sure it is some kind of a fire hazard. It simply appeared that the owners of that joint felt the water park bought them the ability to be extremely poor at all other aspects of running a hotel. We may bring the kids to the water park again, but we will NEVER stay in that dump again. more

We stayed over on a Sat. nite and the hotel was full, but we never had a lack of service or friendly people. The water park was huge. They did a great job at making it very family friendly for all ages. Everything was very clean in the water park and in the room and the beds were comfortable. The arcade was more like a chuck E. cheese arcade rather than video games and pinball, but the kids enjoyed it. Everything was a little expensive, but that's what we expect to find on vacation. There are many restaurants and fast food places and shopping close by and almost every other family was dragging their big coolers inside so you could save money by bringing your own food. more

This is the best water park in the twin cities. It is very big. They have a seperate area for the kids to play. The water slides are fun and you have to ride them many times to get bored of them. There is enough staff to keep everyone safe. Since this is really the best water park in the twin cities, it is usually packed. The rates seem to vary depending on the day as well. more

The newest and largest indoor water park in Minnesota is open in Brooklyn Park. I took my family there for a Sunday afternoon and everyone was able to have a great time. The admission prices can be $10, $15 or $20 per person so check the website and plan accordingly. I went on a Sunday afternoon and we part of the last group admitted – they stick to their occupancy ratings. They are well staffed and have a variety of water play areas that are good for all ages – yes, even little ones. more
