Goudreau Management was founded in 1948 by George J. Goudreau, a pioneer in the both the Single Family and Multi-Family Industries. With more than twenty years of home building experience behind him at that time, he embarked on the development and construction of several hundred apartments. Breaking away from the Industry standard of a third-party manager, through his foresight and innovative thinking, Goudreau Management became the first “Owner-Management” Company in northern Ohio. The “traditional” model for leasing and maintaining an apartment community was typically provided by either one person or a custodial couple. As apartments were completed for leasing, he saw that a “one size fits all” type of apartment manager did not provide the qualities and abilities he was looking for in his leasing and maintenance staff. Again, he broke with tradition and created a new Property Management Model that hinged on the strengths of two types of individuals ...... those with good people skills and sales ability to lease and those with good technical and mechanical abilities to provide service. His goal was quality housing in a residential setting. Multi-family communities are so diversified because of the different needs, tastes, values and beliefs of their residents. To create a “home” and stability among so many variables, our applicants are thoroughly checked. Today, the goal of Goudreau Management still remains unchanged......... to have an apartment community where “neighbors become friends”. Through the vision of our founder, George J. Goudreau, we have today many residents who have called our apartment communities “Home” for several decades. We have taken his “Professional Management Model” and have applied these same principles to the property management of our Office and Retail properties.
