Goodwill lets you get lucky two ways - one, you get clothes and household items at practically rock-bottom prices (only the yard sale is cheaper) and you help people who are handicapped or down on their luck who get job training at Goodwill. No, make that 3 ways - because you can take your old stuff to them and feel good that it might make someone else happy. Mt Airy is not a posh area so the pickings are not always the best, but the clothes are clean, nicely arranged, and the service is efficient. They have a colored tag system and a returns policy so you can bring stuff back as long as the tag is still on it. They sell used books, bicycles, and lots of cloth goods. It's a block away from Main Street so it's a great place to browse while you're visiting Mayberry, whoops, I mean Mt Airy.
