Gonyea's Marine Service

I have been using Gonyea's Marine Service for years! With the problems I have had, they have always been right on the money with their diagnostics. They do good work that is hard to find in that industry. I would recommend others to give them a try; I have inboard and outboard boats and they have done a good job on both. more

I know it was a busy time for Gonyea's Marine Services when I took my boat, but I wish they had paid more attention to detail. When I arrived to pick up the boat, part of the system was not working well and the owner quickly fixed it. After that, one of the gauges didn't work, I also fixed the fender unit, and finally I found out that the problem was just a wire that was not hooked up to the boat. I live about 75 miles away so it wasn't like I could take my boat back to him. So, if they had paid more attention to detail this would have saved me time and money. One of the reasons I went there was the internet reviews. It seemed to me that the owner really knows what he is doing. And, this is true. But, the bottom line is he needs more quality control on his employees who are helping with the work. This was a technical matter and they're not technical people. Again, clients should still trust the owner because he does know what he is doing. Dave Gonyea at Gonyea's Marine Service always does what he says he'll do in the amount of time allotted (and sometimes even faster than expected). I have been going to him to work on my boat for about four years now, and have never been disappointed with his work. He has always been straightforward with me. He has done all sorts of motor work for me, from starters to impellers for my boat, and also did some work on my trailer. He said it would be done in a week, but he ended up finishing it within three days. Dave always does a great job, and I have never had to go back to him for any of the work that he's done. Gonyea's Marine Svc helped with installing a new wheel in our boat, but the directions were off when I tested it out on the water. I ended up having to go back to get that fixed. Although I liked their interactions with their customers so I will use them again. I've been working with Gonyea's Marine Service for about 12 years now. I always go back to them because Dave seems to get everything done right. He's worked on a number of different things for me, from electronics to motors and small engines. He has always provided quality work and I trust him to always get the job done. more

Gonyea's Marine Service is quick and efficient, they got me in and and they got me out. My boat's jet pump had a rope caught in it and I was afraid it would cost a lot of money to take it out and fix the pump. It was a lot of work when they pulled out the boat jet pump, but it was worth it. The amount of money I spent on these services were very fair. This Marine Service is so good that I have already recommended them to other people. more

I have been going to Gonyea's Marine Service for about 8 years now. I was referred to Dave by my brother. I'm pretty picky about who works on my boat, so I'm glad that I found Dave. Dave has always gone above and beyond, and I refer everybody to him as a result. He really knows what he's doing. I own a ski nautique, and they're well known for their low maintenance. So, Dave usually just winterizes my boat each season. Dave is definitely worth going to for boating needs! more

I am very will to recommend Gonyea's Marine Service to anybody. They did some engine work for my boat and some work on my boat trailer. They were very professional, very fast, and very accessible. I have been taking my boat to Gonyea for. 14 years. I started taking it there because of his experance with tourniment boats. I felt that most tourniment boat owners were pretty pickey as to who worked on their boat. I was right Dave treats my boat with the same care he does a tourniment boat. He is honest and fair, I couldn't ask for a better mechabic. more

I asked Gonyea's Marine Service to build custom brackets for the engine mounts for my boat - A 33' Chinese Sailing Junk. The vessel has an odd transom that required a bit of design ingenuity. Gonyea's worked hard at getting the design just right. They worked till 4 in the morning on fabrication to meet tight deadlines. The result exceeded my expectations. Well designed, well fabricated, and in keeping with the nature of the vessel. These guys are pros. I highly recommend them. more

Excellent service, excellent advice. Information about what to be done was clear, cut and dry, and their prices were fair. They were great. Gonyea's Marine Service were just professional and very quick with things. I had some different questions, and they were good about giving clear answers and describing them in ways that I could understand since I'm not a mechanic myself. Overall, I had a good experience.
