Great group experience 3/13/2008

Eight women gathered at Golden Spoon Spa to celebrate the special birthday of one of the women. We had the spa to ourselves for the whole morning. All of the women, who have been lucky enough to travel widely and experience treatments in the finest spas in this country and Europe, raved about the quality of the treatments ( which varied from massage, reflexology, facials to manicures) and the expertise of the aestheticians. We were treatly royally and thorougly enjoyed ourselves. We can't wait to come back and would highly recommend it to others. more

Quiet Remote Relaxing 9/27/2007

The spa actually feels more like someone's home. It is very cozy (quiet and relaxing; intimate) but it falls short of luxurious. The staff is nothing but polite, warm, welcoming, informative and skillful -- and, to their credit, that is probably what really matters. I loved my full body massage. My friend loved her facial but was disappointed with her manicure. I am not sure where to park (perhaps ask the staff for a recommendation) -- we parked at the hotel and it cost over $20.00. more

The Best Spa EVER!! ANYWHERE!!! 7/20/2007

I have been to many spas in my lifetime and The Golden Spoon Spa is by far the best spa experience I have ever had, I have gone to spas all over the USA, Canada and many foreign countries! The people were wonderful, kind and very encouraging. We received the best of care and we were the only clients in the spa so we were never waiting or interrupted. I can't say enough about the employees at this spa, courteous, friendly, informative and extremely kind. I will definitely go back to the Golden Spoon Spa on my next visit to Pittsburgh, as a matter of fact, I may go to Pittsburgh for the sole purpose of going to the Golden Spoon Spa! I have been at your Spa a number of times and there is nothing better than a little pampering to get me through the week. Okay, but overrated and money hungry. 4/4/2007

Overall the servives were generally professional, but I found it to be greatly overpriced given that the products (scrubs, masks, etc.) they use are not anything special, but in fact seemed of a somewhat low quality. The massage was very relaxing, but the pedicure was just average and the technician cut my cuticle until it was bleeding! Also, she tried several times to sell me some of their expensive vitamins, though I had expressed that I wasn't interested. The spa director's friendliness seemed a bit forced, like he really only wanted to do business rather than to provide the best experience for the customer. My experience at this spa was generally positive, but be careful that they don't try to squeeze extra money out of you! more

Wonderful service and attentiveness 11/25/2006

I visited a friend in Pittsburgh and found this spa on Citysearch before my visit. My friend and I were not sure what to expect, but we were both pleasantly surprised. It was fabulous! We received massages, facials, and pedicures. Every service was excellent. The staff was so attentive. It was a great start to my vacation! I highly recommend it. Pros: Attentivness to clients; you felt like you were the only person in the spa Cons: My pedicurist was a bit too talkative but she was very good at what she did. more

One of Pittsburgh's Best. 11/1/2006

My significant other and I recently spent an afternoon at The Golden Spoon Spa. It was one of the most relaxing afternoons we have had in awhile. I received a 60 min. massage, a manicure and a pedicure. He received a 60 min. massage and gentlemen's facial. The service was wonderful. The atmosphere was relaxing, soothing and private. The staff was attentive, extremely professional, very knowledge and kind. Each service was customized for us. We were the only clients there for the afternoon, which made the experience even more pleasant. We have been to numerous spas but the attention to fine details and high level of service puts the Golden Spoon Spa at the top of our list! wonderful relaxing retreat 1/16/2006

I purchased the gold package and spent four hours being massaged from head to toe. I received a 75 min. massage, a 30 min. foot soak and smoothing. A delicious, yet spicy, salmon salad lunch, and a 75 min. facial and hand treatment. Each service was customized for me. The atmosphere is quiet and serene, and, as they only take one client at a time, the space was devoted solely to me and my comfort. for my birthday I was given a rose and the parking fee was subtracted from the cost of my spa services. I have been to numerous spas in NYC but have never been to a spa that was as personal as this one is. note: call ahead to discuss services first to make sure that you get exactly what you want. Great way to spend 18th birthday! 10/28/2005

I surprised my daughter for her 18th birthday with a morning at the spa. I found this spa through reviews on the internet and decided to try it. The recommendations were right! This was a fabulous morning! We were treated royally and the staff was friendly and knowledgable! We had a body scrub, massage and a facial. GoldenSpoonSpa is like a heaven on earth. I went to this spa after a friend recommended it for my wedding. The staff were super friendly, and my treatments were awesome! I had a massage with Katie who was superb - she knew just how to take care of me. I really felt like someone special (and you don't get that in other spas - more like a conveyor belt!) I bought some cool products that I love - I can't wait to go back - the best place to go in Pittsburgh hands down!! I bought myself a package of 3 and a half hours of pampering, something I always thought was too frivolous. It was the best experience! The staff are very genuine and friendly and experienced. The atmosphere, positive and relaxing. I've been going every month now, trying new things each time because there are so many ways to be pampered and don't we all deserve to be pampered?! more

Great place to relax!!! 5/7/2005

I went to Golden Spoon Day Spa as a gift to myself after having my son. The staff is great and friendly and the owners, are the best! They have such a way to make the client feel at home and comfortable. I will definately return there again as this was only my second massage, everyone made me feel wonderful. From the moment you first walk in to when you leave, the atmosphere is of pure pampering. From the plush robes to the fine gourmet cookies, it's all in the details. A great spot. First of all, I have no idea why Golden Spoon Spa isn't listed as a 10 for everything. We went there a couple of days ago and believe me when I say this, I live in downtown San Diego and my girlfriend lives in Jersey and we both adamantly agree that neither city has Day Spa's with the great feel and enjoyable people that this place does. They are so friendly and nice that it completely enhances the experience. On top of that, the staff really knows what it is doing. I rate it a much better time than I had at the Red Door in Chicago. My first vist was for a massage. I have suffered from chronic back pain for 10+ years and have never returned to the same masseuse before ... I was always searching for the perfect deep massage ... and I found it! I have been continuing my therapy over the last two months and have always walked away completely satisfied if not glowing! Cindy is the BEST! Recently, I have expanded my services. I have had a pedicure, a brow and lip waxing and two facials. I can't say enough about Katalin ... she was completely confident in both the waxing and facials. Her friendly personality is welcoming and refreshing. My pedicure was fantastic! The calf massage is worth the experience! I can't say enough about the GoldenSpoonSpa's services and the staff. Oh, lets not forget Jack ... he always greets you with a smile! Who doesn't like that? I love this place 1/8/2005

Wow! What a great retreat! I had the best deep tissue massage with Cindy....very professional. I felt very comfortable and relaxed. The front desk needs some help but once you get through that kaos everything else is great. I really loved the Facial,it was nothing like I had ever experienced before. I go to Golden Spoon Spa frequently! The massages are awesome, the jacuzzi is great, and the magic-chair is fabulous! The friendly, caring and capable staff makes my experience so peaceful and relaxing every time I go. If you want the best of the best, this is it! It is a small spa, without the commercial bustle of some of the bigger spas in town. Golden Spoon Spa is definitely the best spa in town. This spa is the BEST!! They are professional, courteous and genuine. I bought this spa package for a young lady and they treated her like gold.
