To first review no the are straight hourly or salrary depending on position no one makes any money off anything sold I believe you may have a mix up a different company. I work in the office and have been here several years and do not recall ever having anyone show up describing the things you described on here. Also I was in the field for ten years doing service prior to being in the office and I will tell you what you describe is virtually impossible. It sounds to me like the other company could have been the one to stick it to you. And just for a little back ground on Golden Mechanical we are very reputable we service many people that are completely satisfied on a daily basis, we have been in buisness 20 years and are no mom and pop shop. I'm sorry if you had a bad expience if indeed we did perform your service but what you describe does not sound like anything that I have seen or heard of for thst matter. more

They sent a tech out to look at an outside A/C unit of ours. He switched the wiring around to the compressor making it short out. We had to buy a whole new outside unit and it still didn't fix the problem. Not trusting Golden, we called another company who found out that the original problem was a bad thermostat, but they still had to replace the outside unit that Golden Mechanical had ruined on purpose.\r \r I suspect that Golden's employees work under a hourly+commission basis. They get a cut out of whatever major repair a customer has. I do not know this as a fact. However, I do now know that this is a common business practice amoungst the less reputable service companies out there. I also know what they did to me, turn a $50 repair into a $1,000 repair.\r \r The weird thing is that I was a repeat customer. We've had them do work on our personal house and at 3 rental properties.
