Forest Hills is now my vet for life 10/11/2013

Dr. Gold is very matter of fact but provides exceptional care, treats conservatively, doesn't charge an arm & a leg, and his staff is very customer focused. They squeezed me in several times when my previous dog went into heart failure and lovingly put him down in their beautiful back yard. They also went nuts over my new puppy and I feel so blessed to have a lifelong vet for all my current and future furry kids. more

I seriously have NO idea how this place has good reviews. I had a terrible experience. Had to wait for 20 minutes, he didn't even care about my dog. I went home and my dog was not better, took him somewhere else. What a waste of time and money. I'm angry and frustrated. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 8/29/2012

Absolutely recommend! I was also referred here by a friend, and am so grateful for the recommendation. Dr. Gold was able to see us the same day, as my cat was ill, and provided great service. Very knowledgeable. Spent a good amount of time with us to discuss our cat's illness, review veterinary resources to explain it and provide a solution. We had been searching for a vet for quite some time, and we found him! Great pricing, staff and location. more

Dr. Gold 10/11/2009

I have been taking my German Shepherd to Dr. Gold for years and plan to for years to come. I have received the best service for the best price here. For example, not too long ago my dog was attacked at the dog park and sustained a very large laceration on his leg. I had to take him to the ER to get it stitched and took her to Dr. Gold two weeks later for her follow-up. Unfortunately part of the skin on the wound turned black and died, and I was worried that it would require a skin graft. Dr. Gold cut off the dead skin and gave me a spray to put on it. He told me it was okay to take off her cone and let her lick it. I was worried about my dog having an open wound that he was constantly licking, but remained faithful and applied the spray as directed. The wound healed up within a week without any infection or other complication. Thank you Dr. Gold, I will be back. more

Wonderful First Experience 1/8/2008

Based on the positive reviews on this site, we opted to take our new Rescue Border Collie to see Dr. Gold.\r \r She was in need of a kennel cough vaccination and her back dew claw nail had wrapped ALL the way around and was going through her pad as well as tunneling through the nail itself. She was abused during the first two years of her life (mostly by a male) and seemed to do surprisingly well with Dr. Gold despite him being a male presence. \r \r He had his assistant hold her while he did her nails and gave her the kennel cough vaccine so fast she didn't know that it happened. It was painless! He also took her nerves extremely well. She ended up defecating on their table and he took it all in stride.\r \r If he's so well with a rescue animal, I can only imagine how wonderful he is with a pet who's had a good life! more

Best Vet in Town!!!!! 12/13/2007

My family (and now my husband and I) have been going to Forest Hills as long as I can remember. We just love Dr. Gold-- and it seems like a lot of people do because last time we were there, we met a family who comes down all the way from Wyoming just to go to Forest Hills. Most recently, our dog had an embarassing (and SMELLY) gland problem, and Dr. Gold removed them, oh happy day. And get this-- our dog actually still gets EXCITED when we drive by their office. I think that says it all right there. Pros: Awesome vet, great prices more

great kennel 12/13/2007

My dog needed to be boarded over Thanksgiving and I was afraid to take him to an off-leash kennel. I started calling and touring other kennels in my area and was getting very discouraged, but when I got to Forest Hills all of my worries went away. When I came through the door a very happy receptionist greeted me and showed me out to the kennel. I walked through a nice sized yard and then to the kennel area. The kennel was large sized for my little schnauzer and was very clean. My dog stayed there for 5 days and came home very tired and happy. Pros: very clean and well organized Cons: limited sunday hours more

Best Vet 12/13/2007

About 4 years ago I started coming for Forest Hills with my dog that i got from a shelter. On Buddy's first exam Dr. Gold had noticed he had an ear infection and was very thorough with explaining how to clean his ear and how to use the medication. Since then Dr. Gold has referred Buddy to specialists, cleaned his teeth, and gives his yearly vaccines. Buddy also stays in the kennel when we are out of town, and gets groomed every 8 weeks. The staff is wonderful and seems to care for all the animals. Buddy always comes home happy from Forest Hills and doesn't mind going to the vet at all!!! Pros: Lot of Services in one Building :) Cons: parking more

They have taken the BEST care of my animals of any kennel in town. 10/2/2007

I have been taking my animals to Forest Hills for about 7 years and the animals have always come back to us happy and well taken care of. My one dog is extremely shy, but they have no trouble with him. I would recommend them to all who have animals. They also have a very complete hospital with a great staff. Pros: Great people doing a great job more

Good but a little absent-minded? 6/21/2007

I boarded my Chihuahua at Forest hills Pet Hotel for 5 days. While he was there , they said that if he was 'nervous' or 'not eating' they would call me and then give him a seditive.\r \r I called everyday to check on him, and was told each time that he was ""doing great"". Unfortunately, when I got him home, I noticed he had chewed a HUGE hole in his blanket. Now he is throwing up, not going to the bathroom, tired and sick. I think he may have an intestinal blockage from eating his blanket! I'd call that being nervous...\r \r So now, I will have a HUGE vet bill to go along with the HUGE hole. Bummer.\r \r On the good side, I had him groomed while there and they did a great job. The staff was very friendly also. Pros: Friendly staff, great grooming Cons: My dog ate through his blanket out of nerves and no one noticed... more

Best vet around 4/12/2007

Dr. Gold is willing to take the time to check with your pet and also willing to take the time to explain things to you. He is very friendly and knows exactly what he is doing. When I got my beagle, she had some skin and stomach problems. I took her to 2 different vets and wasn't really impressed with either. They acted like they didn't care and just wanted to get you out of there as quickly as possible. That is not the case at Forest Hills, they were very patient and helped me and my dog multiple times until she was better. They are really the best around. You think that you would have to pay a premium for such service but you don't. Forest Hills has the best and most fair prices. Don't let the building scare you away, since it is a little dated. It is clean and completely functional. If you take your animals here you will have the piece of mind knowing that they are being well taken care of and you don't have to go broke doing it. Pros: Knowledgable, friendly, patient more

Loves Animals 7/24/2006

Dr. Gold has been our vet for the last 13 years. \r I also board my two large weimaraners with them when I go out of town. Both office and boarding area are spotless and although the building is dated the practice is not. In my experience with other vets (other peoples dogs (I am a dog person)) his prices are more than fair. He is a quiet man that listens to what you have to say and then checks with the animals to see if its true. His staff is very professional and caring as well and not to be understated. For those animal/people you care about he is the man.\r Pros: Caring Professional One on One enviroment Cons: tight parking more

AWESOME !!! 4/3/2006

Dr Gold and his staff were recommended by a friend and it's one of the best references I've ever received of any kind. His staff is fast, proficient, and go above and beyond the call of duty. For the service I received, I expected to pay a lot more. I trusted this staff with my best friend and they treated her like their own. I've since moved but it's a no brainer, we make the drive. I go the extra miles because they do. A++ Pros: 24 hour emergent care, close parking, great location Cons: bldg hrd 2 find @1st more
