Very convenient location 10/21/2009

New management has taken over and you can definitely tell. The property stays nice and clean and management is very strict on keeping unwelcome visitors and the riff raff out to keep the area safe. But it takes more than management for the property to be nice. The residents play a major part too. If residents want to trash the place and bring the area down, then of course any apartment complex is going to be bad. But management has really turned things around. Also the apartments are very affordable and have hardwood floors and nice sized living rooms. Glenwood Farms is close to just about everything, the new White Oak mall and all the shopping and food places right there on Mechanicvile. Pros: close to shopping, friendly new staff Cons: some of the residents more

Great Experice. 4/11/2009

I have lived at Glennwood farms for five years on Harvie Road and I have never had any major problems. There were a few but that's with all apartments. I think it depends on which apartment you get that will make the difference. Pros: Quite, affordable, and safe Cons: When I moved out they didn't give me my deposit. more

never even consider renting here!!!! 8/9/2008

i was so excited when i found out that i was going to be moving into my first apartment, little did i know the trouble that was ahead of me & my first rental experience. i moved in my apartment in october of 2007 & within 2 days of being there i knew it was a HORRIBLE place to be. There was a shooting in the parking lot & my daughter that was 3 at the time and myself where only about 15 foot steps away at the park that is in the yard. Thinking of how lucky we were to still be living and healthy, i grabbed my daughter and ran in the apartment with her and had to keep holding her because she was soo afraid and crying like never before. 3 hours later to my surprise the police still hadnt came and NEVER came. i decided to take my daughter & myself & spend what was suppost to be our 2nd night in our new place with my mother where i knew we would be safe. The next day we get home only to find that our apartment had been broken into and the door left wide open. When i notified the office about the incident they had not 1 concern & only told me that there was basically nothing they could do & that i couldnt end the lease without having it on my credit as abondment of my apartment. With no prior rental experience i didnt know it wasnt true. November 20,2007 my 2nd child was born and upon leaving the hospital i get home to find that i have no heat, i call the office and they sent the matience man with a floor heater & told me that they would come check it out properly on Monday because it was time for him to get off. The day we came home was Wednesday, they knew i had a newborn & a 3 year old & where knowingly leaving me without heat for 5 days. it ended up being 17 days that we had no heat & had to stay at my mothers. Thinking what else can happen to me & being fed up i just couldnt wait to leave. What would you know a whole broke through my ceiling and we were once again left with no help. That was in March 2008 and to this day it is still a whole in the ceiling Cons: they dont care about what breaks in your apartment more
