Total scam 4/5/2021

Dealt with this company when I lived in the Seattle area. We almost adopted a dog before we discovered the identical cut-and-paste descriptions of each dog. I see they still use emotional manipulation to get people to buy, as numerous dogs "heard the screams" of other dogs being taken away for dog meat. Not a chance do this many dogs come from identical situations in S. Korea. Who keeps rescuing them? How have the rescuers not been caught by now, after years and years of doing this? It's not even believable. It's also the most expensive "rescue" you'll ever come across. Well into four figures for many of the dogs. And they're just covering their expenses? Yeah, right. These people are super friendly when they think they're going to hook you for some money. But question anything and they get vicious. That should tell you everything you need to know. more

Unresponsive organization 2/27/2021

I would never adopt from this organization. I have spent the past year trying to get a response from them for a dog I was interested. Every 3 months I would email with assurance that a response would be received. Only when I emailed that I thought they were very non service oriented and unresponsive did I get a reply with the potential to actually discuss adoption of one of their dogs. Since I emailed the dogs I was interested in (a month ago) I have heard nothing. I also notice that over the past year the same dog (including a number of others I might have been interested in) the same dogs continue to appear on the adoptable list. Unless you plan on being frustrated, go to another rescue where they actually pay attention to your interest. more

Nope 10/3/2019

Ginger's descriptions for every dog is a copy-pasted, incredibly racist summary of how each and every dog is going to be eaten by evil Asians, when a lot of the dogs are former pets from shelters that were being cared for by corresponding rescue foundations in those countries. I believe she doesn't register any of the dogs that come into Washington state as is required by law, I found that out and ended up having to register my dog with the state. the dogs I adopted my dog from Ginger (before I researched her) at a price tag that everyone agreed was too high for a 'nonprofit'. The poor dog came to me with a botched surgery and terrible ear infections that took over 6 months to resolve. She has a medical person who she claims would take a look at her, but after talking to her referred dog trainer who was basically a dirty, ... I wouldn't trust handing the dog to her team for medical attention. All in all, I spent over $3000 upon receiving the dog including how much it cost to fix her medical problems. Also, if you look up Ginger's history, you see she ran an illegal wildlife zoo with local and exotic animals in another state that got shut down. more

No thanks 8/21/2019

Literally the most overpriced rescue I’ve ever seen. If you read their google reviews you will see how many bad reviews they have. There are better rescues out there ppl. Don’t go here. more

Beware 8/7/2019

Opportunistic, money hungry, avoid, unless you want to spend thousands on training. My elderly mother adopted a traumatized dog, and this dog bites children, babies, almost anyone new. Completely unsafe around my young toddler and baby. This dog has driven a wedge in our family, and further isolated my mom from her family and especially her grandchildren. Don't let this happen to your family. more

Just a scam 6/13/2019

they sell pure bred dogs they say same from Taiwan or Korea for up to $2,000. I've lived all over Asia in areas where they eat dog. The ones listed on this site saying 'they were rescued for meat farms' are a far cry from the actual dogs you will find there. They are just purebred they are selling. more

Poor Practices 6/9/2019

I adopted a dog from Ginger's Pet Rescue several years ago. The dog is chipped, but Ginger's never gave me a certificate of adoption or provided the chain of custody documents I'd need to transfer the chip into my name. (I was told that these would be sent to me after the trial period. They weren't.) Also, they failed to disclose the dog's serious skin problems (due to food allergies and low thyroid). It was obvious from the few documents I finally did receive that the dog had been previously adopted and returned, but Ginger's gave no information about the issues that had led to his return. Given the high prices, I expected better service than that. I love my dog, but would never deal with this company again. more

Think twice 3/21/2019

The adoption was fast and seems like as long you have the money they ask, you can take the dog. They claim you have one week to test out with the dog. Their website said all the requirement but non happen by the time of adoption except the money part. Within the first week, I took my dog to see the vet but unfortunately the vet I took my dog to see was a bad one. She didn't really check him thoroughly and I had no experience. I found out there were issue after the first week. The dog has a cyst on the neck which I told the vet but she said it's normal for the dog. I took him to get his teeth clean up due to doggie break and tarts build up. Found out he has three rotten teeth which one was so bad to the point that it is possible for the bacteria to travel to the organs if it doesn't get pull. I asked Ginger for the medical record after they were transferred to the state, but they don't have it and told me the only vet check up was done in Korea. I asked Ginger to reimburse me for vet bill but they said it's not necessary. With all the work done that the vet bill came out to be $800 but they were only reimbursing me $125. After two month from the adoption, found out that my dog has major ear infection. I asked the vet how long has it been, he said a while. I have rethink about everything, everything looks like he started having infection before the adoption. All of these were mentioned to the first vet I took him but unfortunately they didn't take any of my words into consideration. My heart just broke after finding out his was in pain for all this time. With the vet visit, medications, injections, the bill comes out to be $300. Total spent for $1000 on top of the adoption fee. more

Using racism to sell dogs 1/20/2019

Uses copy-pasted racist descriptions of the Korean dog meat industry ("soju elixir", are you kidding me?) to resell dogs desirable by breed or size in the area. Curious how many of the animals have supposedly massive medical bills, only to have no ongoing health problems that would affect their adoptability. I have no doubt that some people have gone here with good intentions and come home with great dogs, but please don't support this scam! There are plenty of reputable adoption agencies in Seattle that need future homes with big hearts. more

Fake rescue real dog flopper 12/15/2018

List cute puppies for ridiculous high adoption fee. I doubt any dog is from Korea as they claim. Please don't be fooled by this dog flipper. more

Gingers pet rescue 9/28/2018

Ginger goes above and beyond to help each and every dog that comes into her fosters care. All dogs are saved from high kill facilities. Or from unfortunately meat trade. And from a beautiful place called Soi dog foundation. She will never and has never purchased from puppy mills. 17,000 plus rescued speaks volumes. more

Dishonest 4/18/2016

I almost adopted 3 different puppies from the N.O.A.H. shelter (which is fantastic by the way) but didn't end up taking them home. They of course were all beautiful healthy pups and were adopted immediately that day. The next day, I see them up for "sale" by this organization and another titled Motley Zoo Animal Rescue, for MUCH higher prices. They are just selling dogs for profit. I see she sets people up as foster parents and those people pay for the dogs needs. When they are adopted, she gets the large prices and doesn't reimburse the foster parents. Notice how her dogs cost SO much! hmmm.... Look online, you'll see there's plenty to read about regarding this organization. more

Bad non rescue 1/24/2016

Disgraceful people 11/23/2014

This woman should go to jail. Her and her husband ran a horrible exotic and endangered Animal "photography" site in Columbia Falls, Mt. before they were run out of business by state officials. It was called "Wild Eyes." I am sure all those animals are dead. This was a shrewd money making business that deserved to be out of Montana. She ran off to Washington and now has a "rescue." Shut this place down. more

True Meaning of Rescue 5/11/2014

I have adopted two of my dogs from Ginger and I have found that she will do anything and everything to make sure the dogs are healthy and going to wonderful homes. The rescue vet, Dr. Zile at Greenwood Animal Hospital is absolutely wonderful. If you have ever owned a dog, you know that vet expenses are huge when your pet is well, I do not believe the stories bitter people post - as adoption fees are in line with a vet visit. But with the added benefit of a tax write-off. My American Bulldog needed a TPL done and it was well over $2,500 plus physical therapy. Ginger accepts and vets dogs regardless of their health requirements/needs. I think that is dedication. A dog saved is a dog saved..... more

do not... 12/27/2013

Do not adopt from Gingers. Recently i first learned about Gingers when a stray dog came into my possession. She had a fresh incision suggesting a spay that was badly infected. i took the dog to a vet to see if it was microchipped and found that the chip was registered to Gingers. I proceeded to contact the rescue in hopes of finding out where this dog belonged. i live about 100 miles from the shelter so i assumed that she must have just been adopted out into my area. the rescue first told me she was an escape from their own yard, then as we tried to work it out they said they did not know who the dog was at all. i contacted a local rescue about the dog and they spoke very poorly of her. so i did some research, but still gave Gingers the benefit of the doubt and continued to try to work with them to find this dogs family. Ginger was no help. i contacted the company that her chip was through, and relayed all information that i knew, and Ginger simply did nothing with any of the information. a simple "we cannot find anything in our system about this animal". So no paperwork on her recent procedure, or adoption, or transfer from death row to Ginger's. like she was never there. So i spoke to other rescues and did my own research and these are what i have found: 1. Ginger's does not keep proper filing (other reviews support this) 2. Ginger's claims to be a death row rescue but there is little to support that. 3. Ginger's has been known to place dogs back on death row by handing them off to other shelters if they cannot find them a home in a "timely" manner 4. Ginger"s has been accused of abandoning dogs all together (i believe that is what i faced) 5. Ginger herself, and her husband have animal cruelty charges in other states 6. Ginger's does not support follow up after a dog leaves their facility (see other reviews for this also.) 7. Adoption fees and procedures suggest sale of dogs for profit. not rescue. the dog i spoke of has sense found a loving home without Ginger's assistance. i do not recommend more

saving the dogs 10/19/2012

I admire her dedication saving dogs. She is tireless in her efforts to help the forgotten ones!!! I adopted 2 chihuahuas from her and they are my constant companions. Ginger is an amazing example of someone who is making a difference in the plight of homeless and unwanted animals. 2 thumbs up!!!!!! more

Wonderful Rescue - Doing Wonderful Things 6/6/2012

Ginger's Pet Rescue is a wonderful organization that truely cares about each dog. True her adoption fee's are high - but it was because of the explained vet bill - and since I have had other dogs go to the vet - I understand that the vet is always expensive. They also introduced me to their vet Greenwood Animal Hospital. They have reasonable rates and showed me all the records. Ginger is doing wonderful things and I have the most wonderful dog that would have been discarded because of her liver disease. . . . . . . . more

Please donate to LEGITIMATE rescues - not this one 9/8/2011

Reading far too many horrible things about this rescue and also encountered them at PetSmart recently. Funny how they only have small dogs of specific breeds and how every dog has had exorbitant vet bills. Read their Petfinder profiles and they claim they owe "$18K" to a vet, "$25K" to a vet. Please. What vet would ever let anyone get that far in debt and how could you with the ridiculous fees you charge? Hopefully karma will come back and bite you in the ass bigtime for exploiting animals for your gain. Dress lightly - hell will be VERY warm. And if you want to support a GOOD rescue go with PAWS, Purrfect Pals, the Seattle Animal Shelter NOT this greedy bitch and her brain-washed army of idiots! more
