Decent amphitheatre 11/14/2005

Germain (formerly "Polaris") is a pretty decent place to go see concerts during the warmer months. A lot of good acts/bands come through Columbus and that's where a majority of them play. Downsides? Traffic, concession prices, expensive Pavillion prices. Sitting in the grass/lawn seats isn't so bad as long as it isn't too crowded and not raining! more

Decent outdoor facility 11/8/2005

I like Germain Amphitheatre for some reasons, but dislike it for others. Likes -- It gets good acts and allows for a LOT of people to see them Dislikes -- It once took us three hours to get there from rt. 161 on 71!! The food and beverages are wildly expensive. The lawn can be almost unbearable (drunk college students) and the pavilion is quite pricey. Overall, it's worth it if theres someone you REALLY want to see. more

Great shows, good seating, expensive beers 9/14/2005

Germain has some really good shows, and no matter where you are sitting if you can't see the stage well they have huge screen TVs that you can see. The beers are like $7.50 a piece so be prepared to spend some money. There are a lot of stalls in the restroom so you won't have to wair forever, which is nice. Parking is recent, but you'll probably sit on Polaris Pkwy for a while trying to get there. more

Nice location; poor crowd control 8/19/2005

I have gone to several concerts at Polaris. Both the lawn area and pavilion are nice. The biggest problem I have with Polaris is the lack of organization when it comes to parking. It takes over an hour to get out of the parking lot after a concert. There does not seem to be any organization. The last couple of times, we've stayed at hotels within walking distance just to avoid the parking lot nightmare. Doing this of course increases the cost of going to a concert, which in turn leads to us going to fewer concerts. Polaris needs to get their act together. more

Going to see a concert 6/24/2005

Chances are, it'll be at Germain Ampitheatre, formerly Polaris Amitheatre. New this year is a "pit" in front of the stage, which is generall admission, standing room only, and you can only get tickets for the pit (at least in my experience) on THE DAY tickets go on sale only. Part of the reserved seating, I believe starting rows AA and back, is NOT covered. Shows are always rain of shine. more
