My husband & I are new to Milwaukee and live Downtown, so walking here from Brady Street was nice. This is a LOT like Barneys in NYC, with imaginative tables arranged for some fabulous dinner, with all the accessories. We found some colorful votives ($35) from Sweden, and a saleslady, Lee, showed us lots of options...After we were done shopping, we had a glass of wine in the Tea Room upstairs and waltzed through the cutest baby area on the way up there. When we were done, our gold gift box was waiting for us, making our first stop to Watts easy as pie. Pros: Fun displays!!! Cons: Only one store more

Anytime I need a gift for my wife, I go to George Watts. It's right down the street from my downtown office and I've been working with the same salesperson for several years. Her name is Dana and she doesn't treat me like a commission. She knows my wife's taste and based on previous purchases and discussions, she always helps me pick out the perfect gift to make my wife happy. If i went into a department store there is no way that I would be able to figure out what my wife would want. Like most men, I sometimes need a little help and I always find what I need at Watts. They seemed to go above and beyond my expectations in every way.\r \r I found dinnerware that I hadn't seen at other department stores and my fiance and I were so excited to know that we would have something truly unique. \r \r The prices were competitive, which was important to us, seeing as how it was our friends and family who would be spending the money on gifts for us :)\r \r Our salesperson spent a lot of time getting to know us, our lifestyle, our tastes, and our needs. I felt like she really understood us. Maybe she was just friendly, or maybe she had been doing it for so long that she had helped many other couple just like us and knew what questions to ask . She advised us on table cloths, napkins, plates, spoons, and glasses. you name it! We went with a more modern Vera Wang pattern that works with our decor, but accents some of the older Wedgwood plates I got from my grandma when we announced our engagement. \r \r We created a registry that I think will be a lasting part of our lives. Last week, I was invited by an old friend to lunch at George Watts' Tea Shop. I had never been to Watts before and found myself pleasantly surprised upon entering. I arrived a little early so I could take a quick look around the store and was amazed at the variety of product in the store. They had it all. From basic, everyday serveware and china, to the high-end product only fit for royalty. To me the store had a bit of a dated, more ""Old World"" feel which isn't my cup o' tea, but overall I was very impressed with the store. The Tea Shop was wonderful as well and has delicious sandwiches and soups (The homeade sunshine cake is to die for!!) Pros: lots of product more

I shop frequently at George Watts in downtown Milwaukee, and each time I do I find new and beautiful items. It is the first place I think of to go to for a wedding gift because the selection is amazing and I have a slaesperson with whom I have dealt with for about 15 years. She is pleasant and helpful and always has ideas to share with me. I like the personalized service. But I also enjoy the free valet parking! It can be such a headache to get around downtown, but watts thinks of everything and tries very hard to go above and beyond for you. customer service is awful at george watts.. There were so many mistakes for our wedding registry. At the end we did not know what people bought us or what we got... We would receive cards from george watts stating they bought us this when in fact they bought us more plates. They charged our family and friends for gift wrapping and overnight shipping and we did not receive gift wrapping and the packages would come 2-6 weeks later... We still have not received all our purchased items. Spoke to owner Thome, she is of no help at all. She has no clue how to run a business and with the customer service we received, i would bet they will be out of business soon. Lets just hope we get our presents our friends bought us before then... Sad thing is,, you should never be in the position to ask family and friends , is this what you got us???? and it is wrong,,, George Watts will embarass you.
