I've had two different dentists in this office in Santa Barbara. Both the dentists and the dental assistants, as well as the office staff, have been awesome. Patient, kind, knowledgeable, listen to me, inform me, ask, recommend, and do great work. I left my other dentist of 25 years because of the new HMO dental plan, and although I miss the relationship, this office is excellent, and I'm not upset about a thing. I would recommend Gentle Dental of Santa Barbara. more

WORST DENTAL EXPERIENCE 12/12/2008

Went to this office because it was in-network for my insurance. Was charged for and forced to pay for a procedure that was never done, and my insurance company demanded the office refund the money to me. It refused to do so. Dentists under-reduced two teeth (as confirmed by three other dental offices) so that temporaries (which crumbled in my hand) fell off within hours, and permanent crowns were smaller and less stable than required. Dentist drilled a large hole through my bridgework so I have to have it replaced. The office refuses to give me my dental records, in violation of Health & Safety Code. Had to report them to the Dental Board and file a criminal complaint for fraud and battery. Pros: None I can think of other than usually short wait to see dentist Cons: "Cons": false charges, poor dental work more
