If I could I would give them no stars. We took ours in the staff were very immature, no where near professional, cocky. They assessed ours and rudely made accusations about why it is malfunctioning. Even if that was their opinion there is a way to talk to people, especially customers, civil. We disagreed and they got loud disagreeing and laughing amonst themselves like its a game or joke. Then we never heard from them and after a few weeks get a random curt message pick it up or if want to recycle it. We got it and they said it was not fixable, the costs to fix were more than it cost to buy a new one. We totally disagreed as it is only 1-1/2 months old. They were totally rude and joking and cocky. Who manages this group?. So unprofessional. So we brought it home, my husband decided to open it himself and fixed it in 10 minutes so simply. Its just like new. So I dont think they ever even looked at if and if they did they did not know what they were doing. I think they knew it was an easy fix and told us that so we did recycle it so they could keep it themselves and use it. So that was our experience. Beware more

TERRIBLE! 3/17/2011

I was on hold for 14 minutes the first time, and then hung up on, then when calling back to complain about being hung up on the receptionist laughed nervously and said ""lets try it again"" I was fine with this because i really wanted to know if they have the ""5 dollar"" key for my keyboard. When connected with a ""carlos"" i was told that i could not just buy a single key. That instead i had to buy an ""entire"" new keyboard to replace a single key. Geek squad in greenfield is poorly staffed managed and i can only speculate how long they will be associated with best buy. The featured review by the way.... Sounds like a terrible plug and they really should be ashamed of themselves for Masquerading around like trained professionals. Just a bunch of kids with cookie cut money making schemes to defraud the old and gullible. more

Geek Squad Alternative 8/5/2010

At one point or another we all need computer repair help and I am no different. I found myself in need at the worst possible moment. In the middle night, when everything is closed and the night before a report is due. I called Geek Squad online support for help and was charged for the $199 virus removal service. They connected to my pc and attempted to remove the problem. After a couple of hours and a whole lot of coffee and nail biting they call me back and say there is nothing they can do. This time, the guy I spoke to had a heavy accent and seemed to be calling from overseas. And long with this and the fact they said the virus is too embedded to be removed without causing further damage and system instability. I get off the disappointing phone call and am still sweating because this report is 35% of my overall grade in this course and I absolutely had to have this done in the morning. I run a quick Google search for a solution when I find SecureRemoteSupport[dot]com who provides online services and have a “No Fix No Pay” guarantee. Wow that would be nice if Geek Squad offered the same promise. Within an hour they had diagnosed the virus and had removed it completely for $105. And best of all, I didn’t lose any of my work and my operating system was completely repaired. Apparently the Geek Squad isn’t as good at their job as secureremotesupport[dot]com is. I really appreciate their diligence on fixing my issue and suggest others think twice before contacting Geek Squad to fix their computer. more
